I prefer a local boutique neighborhood hotel to a chain, and The Carlyle Inn delivers that experience. The Robertson-Pico neighborhood is a lively area of LA bordering on Beverly Hills. A well-maintained property overall, the room was spotlessly clean, and the king bed very comfortable. The front desk is staffed 24 hours a day. I received free self-parking as a VIP bonus. Tip: use the bath mat when showering; the tub was very slippery.

Clean hotel with great service. The only downsides to this property is that the $150 deposit wasn’t disclosed until after I already booked and prepaid for the room & the parking is $40 a night (in a garage that’s across the street). Other than that, this is a great place to spend a night or two.

"I stayed there for four nights with my daughter who had just lost her father. The place was huge. Basically had two living rooms, two dining areas and four really good size bedrooms. Upstairs.
