Now the negatives. The place was old, unmaintained and in bad condition. The biggest issue was that it was on the third floor (no elevator, of course) and stiflingly hot during our stay there (no air conditioner, of course). There was also a weird, inexplicable knocking sound from the roof (sometimes aggressively, sometimes less so) every evening at the same time. Because the room had only one window, which was on the slanted roof, we couldn’t see what it was. Not a good place at all. Though you are paying less than other places in the area, I would avoid it altogether. Weird hotel. Just learned from expedia that the property will not refund me for suspected bed bugs in room. They were in all three beds and crawling on the walls.Unfortunately we did not discover them until after 5am (the following morning of our 1 night stay). I showed this immediately to the staff who was at reception- they saw them on the wall and they said “we do no usually get bed bugs in this room”. They did suggested that if I contacted the people I booked with I should be able to get a refund. I would really like some advice on this matter- the hotel is saying that they would only honor the original cancellation policy and apparently my room was non - refundable.
