The house has a back garden and safe off-street parking, and it was a quiet place to sleep. One small suggestion would be to update the bath towels. "Apparthotel in the center of Leuven, seemingly in a building converted from offices. Stay was good, quiet (despite some reviews saying the contrary), and above all excellent location. The receptionist was extremely nice and helpful (but note: there is no 24/7 reception, only afternoon/evening). Rooms could use a bit of a refresh, they felt slightly tired and soulless, and the lighting was quite dim without being stylish. The art may be a question of taste. These were cosmetic rather than fundamental issues. Overall it was perfect for my purpose, better for a university conference than romantic getaway."

"We had a wonderful time. Robert was an excellent host and very fast to respond to requests since he lives right across the street. The property is excellent for large families and groups traveling together. Lots of beds and every room has its own bathroom. We had both babies and elderly parents so the separate main bedroom was perfect for those with disabilities. Our grandson enjoyed playing on the slide and the garden is beautiful. We had bonfires in the backyard every night and the cool Belgium air felt great at night with the windows open. It is beautiful farm country 30 mins from Brussels airport with horses and cows and rolling fields of corn, hay and pear trees. There is a SPAR food store, pharmacy and restaurants close by for every day needs and a bakery and ice cream shop only 1km away. The larger town Tienen is only 10 mins away for bigger shopping trips. We used this location for day trips to Leuven, Ghent and Bruges. Robert is very responsive if you call him on WhatsApp. Make sure to call him - do not text him as he is very active at 81 years old and he is often busy with lots of projects nearby. Note that there is only a washing machine for clothes but no dryer - bring a cord to hang up outside for drying. Also ask for extra trash and recycle bags if staying more than a couple of days. There is no air conditioning but that is common for most of Europe. We were fortunate to miss the worst of the heat wave and even had a couple of days of light rain."
