Not great, not bad
Expectations were high with a score of 9.2 but I was disappointed. Room a bit pokey, very odd matress & bedding, terrible shower. Decor throughout a bit tired. Residents bar very limited and nothing on draught. Breakfast was ok. On the plus side, staff were all very nice, location is quiet with a nice park opposite and there's enough parking. I'd stay again if in Girvan but can't say I'd look forward to it.

A great guesthouse
A really good guesthouse. We arrived very early, but that was no problem for the owner. Beds extremely comfortable. Great big bathroom, very clean. Brilliant breakfast. Yes, the stair carpet is a little worn, but that didn't detract from the place. Highly recommended

The hotel was very good, with friendly, hard-working and competent staff. The breakfast was excellent - again provided by great staff. Our only real problem was that our double room was small, with barely enough room for one suitcase - let alone two.

The Southfield is a lovely hotel, great en-suite bedroom facilities, quiet despite being close to town and ammenities are all within walking distance. Breakfast was superb and would highly reccommend it. A wee gem of a place.

Great overnight stay
Hotel was spotless and every precaution that could be taken against Covid was top marks for this. Room was spotless, bed extra comfy and breakfst was great. I'd def stay again.

Great location for turnberry golf club. The staff and owner were very helpful and friendly . The bathrooms could do with updating. Highly recommended for the price.

Friendly and comfortable hotel
Very well organized for Covid 19. Friendly staff. Comfortable bed and very pleasant breakfast. The bathroom was dated and the shower head not working well enough for the shower to be used.

They’ve made a lot of effort to make everything safe and Covid compliant. The breakfast was amazing and the chat was great. Girvan is a beautiful lilttle town to stay in

Fine for a short stay
Good sized room and very friendly/ helpful host. However building is rather tired and in need of refurbishment. We only stayed one night which was a Sunday and the restaurant was not open so cannot comment on food.

Staff friendly & helpful above & beyond. Free parking; close to restaurants & pubs; seafront; distillery not far; free parking; quiet. Best fish pie in Scotland at the restaurant downstairs, going out of their way to specifically cook for me (gluten free). Property's aging around the edges but spotlessly clean. No lift.
