Preparing the tea for the guests. Tea served here is matcha and not sencha which many are accustomed to outside Japan. It's more bitter and like sashimi an acquired taste.
In reality, the tea ceremony at Gion Corner is good for a first time experience. I don't recall the tea as exceptional nor the pastry. Perhaps because I was too engrossed in taking photos of the two pretty geishas!!! Easy checkin, clean room, great staff. Location is across the street from USJ, part of the CityWalk. Train station is just outside the hotel, next to CityWalk.
