LOCATION:
The cottage is in the heart of Gillies Bay where the island's best waterfront and facilities are.
Short walk or drive to General Store and Farmer's Market on Sundays and Shelter Point. Also, short distance to community hall, library, as well as a short distance to clinic and tennis courts, hiking trails, 9 hole golf, boat access, airport and a 20 min drive to the ferry terminal.. Experience island life and the beach cottage lifestyle!

LAYOUT
RARE, drive up to your cabin, 2 steps up to deck and cabin. Easy loading/unloading!

Main floor: Living and Dining area, kitchen, bathroom with 1 extra-comfy King sized bed and 1 Queen sized bed on main floor. If your group is bigger, our ladder leads you up to a low ceiling 5' loft (at its peak) which has 2 Twin beds best suited for ages 7 and up. 800sqft total. King sized bed is two XL twin beds combined using King sized sheets, exact same size as a King.

WATERFRONT- Back of property leads to beach below through path and steps to Beach below, please be careful particularly young kids or elderly. Or just stay on the deck! Perfect for summer sunsets and winter storm watching. Steps to the quiet beach below. When you catch low tide during the day, miles and miles of sandy beachfront!!

Wildlife abounds on the island: try spotting seals, dolphins, whales, blue heron, eagles, kingfisher, blue jays, black tail deer

Celebrating our 48th anniversary

A peaceful & quiet getaway. What the beach house lacks for in size, is more than made up for by it's beach front location with stunning views. Our 2 evenings were enjoyed on the deck, For us, the combo of watching whales, our bbq dinner, wine & sunshine was perfect.

In love with the view

We cannot say enough good things about this location. The views from Nicole’s cabin are spectacular night and day. Great to use as a family base while exploring the island. Nicole is easy to get in touch with and was in communication with us as we needed during our stay. We look forward to visiting again.

Quick winter stop over

This cottage was delightful - even in the winter - with the big picture window. We brought our own coffee, but there were no coffee filters or French press in the kitchen. However, there was coffee provided, which was weak filter pack coffee. It did the trick - first world problem!

The Beach House - August 10-17

The Beach House was the perfect place for us to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The island was quiet, the house was perfect. Spent most of our days sitting on the deck enjoying the wildlife that appeared - blue herons, Canada geese, loons, deer, eagles. I was able to crochet and relax my brain! Thank you for a fantastic week!

Beautiful winter getaway

We had a wonderful time in your cozy cabin overlooking the Salish Sea during the stormy season. The cabin had everything we needed for a fun winter getaway, puzzles, DVDs, a comfortable bed, and a fully stocked kitchen.

We stayed at the Beach House over the Christmas holidays and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the surroundings and the views - the kitchen was well stocked for our cooking needs and we had a lovely, relaxing time away from it all.

Breath Taking Views

Truly enjoyed three lovely nights and days at the Beach House on Texada Island. Location is amazing with views west of Vancouver Island. Gillie's beach below the house. Beach House is well equipped with comfy beds and linen, small comfy sitting area and dinning area and a gorgeous deck. Lots of exploring to do around the island. We ventured on to Anderson Bay road - which was an adventure - used all of the SUV 4X4 features. Highly recommend this place.

Relaxing Getaway on Texada

Quiet Getaway

Had a great visit to Texada, this was a wonderful cabin that had everything we needed. The bay has large tide movements which meant the kids had a blast exploring and swimming during low tide. Would return!

Relaxing Island Vacation

The cottage was very comfortable with a beautiful view overlooking Gilles Bay, which we enjoyed during our stay. Several nice rocky beaches to relax and explore during the week with Shelter Point, Glass Beach and Single Beach being our favourites. The museum is worth a visit and make sure to go to the Sunday Farmer's Market to pick up one of Gale's pies before they sell out! Overall, a very relaxing and enjoyable week at the cottage.

Tranquillity

A little piece of paradise. Just up from the beach which is huge when the tide is out. Our kids loved sleeping in the loft. We had everything we needed to enjoy one of the quietest places on Earth.

Peace and quiet in paradise

We loved our stay in Gillies Bay. The kids loved the loft area and never wanted to leave. The waterfront beach location made for some great beachcombing with sea stars, crabs and tons of sand dollars. We loved the ocean view and the comfy king sized bed. The corner store is walking distance and we feel the Beach House has the best location on Texada Island. The quiet of the island made for such deep sleeps. We would love to come back.

Texada and cabin both great for a quiet getaway

We enjoyed our stay. The location is wonderful with beach access and great view from the deck as well as from inside the cabin. I am a light sleeper and as worried about the proximity to the main road but it was quiet at night until the morning ferry rush. The log cabin itself is cute and well organized. Communication with host was prompt and there are lots of instructions at the cabin including a binder of information about the island. Would highly recommend.

Gorgeous tidal bay

We loved staying right on the beach and brought kayaks with us. So many options from the house and on the island to explore by kayaks. The beds are comfortable although the twin beds in the loft are very hot at night with the warm weather. We had a spare small fan which we used overnight. The view from the deck is amazing. Shop nearby, farm stands and farmers market on Sunday kept us well supplied.

Great location - but not in great shape

We stayed 2 nights June 2024. The location is lovely. The space wasn’t maintained like the ratings advertised. The deck was completely covered with pollen, leaves and all the furniture needed cleaning. The BBq was still in a box not set up. ( annoying as we wanted to Bbq.) The sun umbrella was broken. Everything else was very basic. The property next door the sand dollar looked amazing! Same style cottage. But with all the amenities set up and working when we chatted with the neighbours.

Fantastic, quiet, fun filled

Our family would like to take a moment to recognize the beautiful accommodations at The Beach House Texada. We shared this stunning beach front cabin with our sister and her family. From the moment we drove up we were very impressed. The beach house has a quaint , rustic, relaxing a feel to it The interior was very clean and inviting. The large front window and balcony gives you an unobstructed view of the spectacular ocean and beach, all just steps away. The beds and linens were extremely comfortable and we all were able to catch up on some much needed sleep. The beach house provides you with everything you could ask for , clean appliances, fully stocked cabinets and a washer and dryer. It really made for the perfect getaway. We would definitely recommend it!!

Good, but not perfect

This was our first time on Texada Island! The view from the Beach House was beautiful and the location was excellent. We were staying next door to more family, so it was nice to have a big family trip. The Beach House mostly suited our needs when it came to space. There were a few issues when it came to the property being ready for us though. They’re in the middle of redoing their deck, so it was halfway completed when we arrived. They bought a new bbq but it wasn’t set up, same with new umbrellas that weren’t set up, and the dishwasher wasn’t emptied. The kitchen also could have been stocked better with more cutlery and better frying pans, etc. None of these were big issues, but they were noticeable. It should be mentioned that when we openly discussed some of these things being issues for us on the deck (e.g., the dishwasher, the bbq, the umbrellas), we soon received an email from the property owner mentioning those exact issues. There is a Ring camera on the property right next to where we were talking, and we’re fairly certain the owner was listening to our conversation. While she did a great job resolving our issues, this is a major invasion of privacy! Overall, we had a pleasant stay, and the view was wonderful, but we felt it necessary to point out some of these issues with the property.
