We spent a good deal of time just enjoying the view from veranda at the back of the house where we started and ended each day. There is a good-sized, well maintained pool, which gave us respite when the heat was unbearable. One of the real plusses was that our dog, who is a 160 pound mastiff, was in heaven wandering the grounds at will. We found the rooms in the house charmingly decorated and loved the array of books on a wide range of topics that included nature and history. Our favorite books were the ones that gave insight into the history of the house, its original owners, and the development of the region. We plan to return to the house in the future--it is in a perfect location to visit the lakes, the wineries, and other amazing places in this stunningly beautiful region. ##### Antonia C.
