"I was very satisfied with the hostel, the room was clean, bright, and spacious. The view from the window was also great. The owner was a very cheerful and kind person. I went to "Santuario de San Pedro de Alcantara", and the scenery was wonderful on the gentle 2.7km riverside road from the hostel to there, the birds singing and the babbling brook were soothing, and I was impressed by the scent of flowers when I breathed in. It was a very nice place."

"We recently stayed at Estrellas de Gredos and were really disappointed. The place has stunning mountain views and a traditional curved ceiling, but a lot of things went wrong. The biggest issue was a broken sliding door that wouldn’t lock. When we told the staff, they showed up unannounced at 22:00 and just said it was safe to leave it unlocked, which didn't sit right with us. The inside felt cheap too. It was nowhere near where shown on the map in Vrbo and the address we were given was completely wrong.Amenities: much maintenance needed:No working light over hob.In one shower, head does not attach to wall mounting; in the other, hose leaks so badly the flow is a dribble.Much chipped crockery.No microwave cookware.Grubby walls.Blunt kitchen knives.No plug in kitchen sink.Pool filthy.Unstable standard lamp (hazard).Broken lid on garbage bin.Many flies, no screens, flat battery in fly swat, no spray.Inadequate and poor quality supply of towels."

"Excellent location if you like hiking - the mountains and countryside were on the doorstep. Run by an enthusiastic and very genial ornithologist. Slight miscommunication on check in that cost us an extra €20 which was unforeseen and a little annoying but we were happy to pay it. Service from staff was exceptional and the food served in the bar was delicious. TV didn’t work in the bedroom and a fan would have been welcome as it was hot when we stayed. "
