"Luxurious B&B, very tranquil, clean, quiet, nice modern rooms. Belgian beers & wine available at democratic prices. Owner couple runs this B&B and have gradually expanded it over the past 12 years to now 15 rooms. We stayed in the Superior Room type which seems try largest one and is the size of a studio with separate sitting area. Breakfast served in common area but otherwise no restaurant on-site. Biking and walking trails nearby. Highly recommended for a quiet stay near Dendermonde. "

"We stayed 1 night here for our trip to Ghent, myself and my two adult sons. The two rooms are very spacious and well appointed. The location is great, in a neighborhood with good restaurants and shops, but an easy walk to the square/tourist areas. We enjoyed the downstairs "honor bar", very convenient. Only a few call outs, the communication pre-check in could have been better. We were waiting the day of to learn of the check in instructions which were finally relayed in the afternoon over...

"We were in Room 1 on the backside of the house. Great location in a great neighborhood, just minutes walk from the center of the city. Nice little courtyard - would have been great if the weather was better! Inside was interesting and unique decor, yet very spacious and comfortable. Parking was a bit difficult to figure out where we could park overnight for a reasonable cost (i.e. the orange zone) - wasn't too far away, but took me quite a while to figure out where it was."

"Arrived to find the hotel and restaurant closed with all lights off. I called the hotel to be told that Expedia had cancelled but I had a confirmation email that morning. I suspect we had the only room booked so the owner didn’t want to open."

"This is a residential area. I didnt see any shops or places to eat nearby. However very close to train station. You need to check in with an emailed code. Room was fine and large. A very nice breakfast was included at the sister hotel a few doors down which was really good. Overall recommended but my big tip is dont expect nearby shops or places to eat. Is nice and quiet area. "

"I was not expecting a code-style reception at "A Flemish Tale. To me, an in-person reception check-in is essential for a traveler overseas like me. Thankfully, I was waiting downstairs at least 2 hours before my "check-in time" at 3:00 p.m., so that I was able to meet, totally by chance, the lady in charge at the entrance. But for this, I would not have been able to get my access code. Imagine how scary it was! "

Minpinten: zit in een kelder, op sommige plaatsten was het plafond zo laag, dat ik met mijn 1,91 gebogen moest lopen; appartement is enkel geschikt om in te slapen, er is geen bank om comfortable in te kunnen zitten, geen TV, radio of muziekspeler, er is geen eettafel, je moet eten in een rij bij de bar zittend op zeer oncomfortabele schommelende krukjes; koelkast is te klein.
