Excellent house for a two-family trip with young kids. The house interior, including kitchen, is sufficiently spacious for spreading out. Large assortment of books and games; plenty of interesting trinkets throughout. Good solid furniture everywhere. Note that the second upstairs bedroom doesn't have a window to the outside (only to the garage), but the room is well-furnished and there are plenty of windows in all the common areas.
The outside surroundings of the house are what really sets it apart. The stream looks like it comes straight out of some fantastical painting, cascading over stones and logs, while birds and squirrels dart back and forth. The firepit (not pictured in the listing!) is ideally situated on a small natural terrace right next to the stream, and a great place to sit and admire nature. The noise of the water dominates the back yard, adding to the appeal. The front yard has plenty of grassy expanse for kids to run around in. The road is a dirt road without traffic, and a nice hike is available by following it up and over.
Very close to Gardiner and Yellowstone; food (either restaurants or the grocery store) is close at hand, and reaching the park is easy, even with the new entrance road.
I am usually satisfied at my VRBO rentals in general, but this is the first one where I would definitely try to come back, rather than trying something new, should I vacation in the area again.
