Good location,easy parking

Nice centrally located hotel.

Nice hotel close to a small beach and 10 minutes from Eyre's Square in a taxi. Bar staff could take ages.

Not a very good experience this visit

Pros: The facilities and location of hotel
Cons: Rooms need updating. Housekeeping staff could benefit with customer relations course
Location: Location is excellent. My visit was to visit hospital and attend funeral so access roads to avoid traffic was excellent
This is not my first stay in the Connaught hotel. They have normally very good service/ facilities. I will have to say this experience would not have been my best stay at the Connaught. staying 3 nights my first meal in restaurant was a burger with soggy bun (possibly because a large amount of guests were heading off for a match) then our first over charge on our bill that was rectified by an alert member of staff. The same evening we ordered room service that we were charged a double service charge... possibly thinking we had been at match and celebrating all evening so wouldn’t notice!!!! That whole night was spent awake due to kids running wild up corridors while parents were in bar celebrating. We didn’t complain as it was obvious to all staff and management. The toilet flush in our room is missing a cover and one of our lamp shades was hanging off(after inspection realized it had been sellotaped back) i will have to say the food improved after the bank holiday finished back to what I had received in previous visits. Even though my experience wouldn’t have been the best this visit, I would return but only because I had been here before and had an enjoyable stay.

nice hotel with good facilities

Pros: location and facilities
Location: on the edge of town which I chose for my next day business meeting.
nice hotel, stayed in room 2052. A long way from reception and no offer of a porter. View from the window was not great, onto wasteland within the hotel complex. The room heater could have been turned on when expecting guests, so the room was cold on arrival. Everything else was fine, parking, check in, facilities, cleanliness.

A great stay in a beautiful hotel

We were in Galway for one night before an appointment the next day Beautiful hotel friendly staff and a lovely clean room Slept so well and had a fine breakfast the next morning We will be staying again on our next trip to Galway

Good all-rounder

I like the Connacht hotel. I'v stayed there four times in last three months. The Connacht does all the basics really well. Reception staff are helpful, efficient and friendly. Bedrooms are clean and comfortable. The restaurant does a good selection of food at competitive prices and friendly staff. The bar is lively. Parking is free and plentiful. WiFi is excellent and free. There is a swimming pool which I have not used so cannot comment on. It is 25 - 30 minutes walk into center of Galway so you will probably have to use back taxi there and back if you go there.
