Nice hotel 35 minutes from town

Posted 13-May-2016
Pros: good night's sleep good breakfast entertainment most nights well trained staff
Cons: not a lot it's a big place so they will need to keep standards by regular investment - they seem to do so to date
Location: Ideal for Galway town Aran Islands. the Burren, and Connemara re all within touring range
stayed for 5 nights in May a large hotel so had rugby group at the weekend and coach parties during the week we were put in a quiet wing and had a great break would definitely go back.

Kids everywhere!

Posted 04-Apr-2016
Pros: Not much!
Cons: See above comments Wifi
This is a large, bustling, tired looking hotel that appeals to families with young children and if that is your thing, then you might enjoy this place. Not a hotel for couples wanting a quiet hotel however. The long corridor that led to our room became a running track for children until 10/11 pm so the noise was intrusive to say the least. The restaurant was noisy due to the presence of many children - inevitably I suppose. If only I had known before booking. IPhones and IPads did not work anywhere in the hotel other than in reception. Despite the sterling efforts of the reception staff who phoned their central "helpdesk" the problem was never resolved. In this day and age, the lack of wifi is a significant negative. How this could be rated as 4 star is hard to comprehend.

The hotel was beautiful, had a great restaurant and an awesome workout facility/pool. It was walking distance to small shops and a 15 minute drive to the city center. Works best with a rental car unless you don't mind walking.

Front desk staff hands down the best! Rooms could use some love and the scent of cigarettes should be removed from the room. Overall, great stay and would do it again.

Lovely stay. Very helpful staff. Great leisure centre, and good kid club. They just need to change the sofa in the lobby. We will definitely return.
