Originally a dude ranch, Karst Camp was established in 1901 by Pete Karst. It was the gateway to Yellowstone National Park for early tourists. The camp, known as Karst Stage Stop Inn, saw up to 600 tourists per summer with 25 guests cabins. In 1937, Pete built a towrope for skiers, which has since vanished, as well as a bar and brothel for local miners. Visitors can imagine the rugged conditions both residents and tourists must have had to endure to appreciate Yellowstone Country 100 years ago.
In the summer, you are just minutes from exceptional fly fishing, river rafting, golfing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, ziplining and more. Plus, the West entrance of Yellowstone National Park is only about 45 minutes away while following the historic HWY 191 along the scenic Gallatin River. Don't miss the free concerts, farmer's markets, and weekly special events throughout the summer!

These little cabins are hidden gems in the BigSky area. With the Gallatin river flowing by out the back door, wildlife all around, mountain views on the ready, and quick access to skiing this is an amazing way to hit up Big Sky for.
Cabin was small but had everything we needed! Scenery was beautiful with Gallatin river right outside our door. It is close to the highway which is loud when front windows are open, fine when windows are closed. This property was great! We’ll definitely stay again!

nice new cabin. proximity to river was great.Having a fly fishing camp with training right next door was not good. No privacy during the day .as the fishing guides and students were always around. Please fix the address on house. It had us confused for a couple hours. I would consider it again.

Not worth money
Overpriced for what you get. Yard wasn’t maintained. No trash can as told to put trash out in can when leaving.
First night started to bed and pulled covers down dead bugs in between sheets and comforter also stains on sheets. Had to wash sheets before going to bed. Also no vacuum to use.

Renter Beware
Unlike every other rental I have ever made through VRBO this one was administered by a “partner” that was not disclosed in the listing. It was not enough that I paid for the 3 night rental in full and in advance and that it was completely non-refundable. The partner who I only learned existed after paying insisted I sign a 7 page lease. The 7 page document (for a 3 night rental) required 7 signatures and some of the terms included that the renter give up just about all legal recourse in the event of a dispute and pay the partner’s legal fees in the event the partner has some dispute with the renter. None of these terms (or the partner’s existence—or many others (again, 7 pages)—was disclosed until after full, non-refundable payment. When I called VRBO, I was routed to someone in India (I think) who said it was just a “simple” lease and I had to deal with the partner even though he had not seen the document. When I called the partner I got to speak with what sounded like a 15 year old child who clearly had no idea what the document said. Despite my full payment up front, the partner refused access until I signed 7 times at which point I had no place else to sleep and no way to get my money back. The place was as advertised and I left it spotless and documented same. It’s been a week and I have not heard any complaints with how I treated the property but now I await retribution for warning you of what will happen after you book and pay to rent this property.
