Whether you are fly fishing on the Gallatin, skiing at Big Sky, floating the Madison, or hiking Yellowstone National Park, this is your home base for exploring the Treasure State. Our home features a private saltwater hot tub, ❄ Central Air Conditioning ❄, 3 outdoor deck/patio spaces, PickleBall Court and Cornhole in 3 Car Garage, and spacious gourmet kitchen. With 5000sq ft to stretch out, the home has 2 living areas with the main level highlighting the river rock gas fireplace and the lower level lounge with dual TVs playing both games at once! Kids love the cozy bunkroom and gaming space to retreat to. Outside the main level a wrap-around deck with seating to soak up the sun and gaze at the stars at night. The laundry room has full-size washer and dryers for guests.

LOCATION

Located in Gallatin Gateway, Big Elk Haus is situated perfectly between Bozeman and Big Sky: 30 min from BZN airport, and just over an hour to Yellowstone National Park West Entrance. The home is tucked into the foothills of the Gallatin Nation Forest, host to hiking/horse trails, snowmobile and UTV access through Little Bear Road. “Blue Ribbon” rivers surround the valley and are renowned for their fishing, all within a short drive to access.

ACTIVITIES

30 min south down the scenic canyon road and driving alongside the roaring Gallatin River, you’ll reach the town of Big Sky home of 5,800 acres of ski terrain for all experience levels. Iconic and just plain Big, this place checks the bucket list for skiers and snowboarders world-wide. Additionally, Bridger Bowl is the locals ski hill boasting 2,000 acres, 300” of seasonal snowfall, north of Bozeman and about 45 north of the home. Those looking for challenge can Hike the Bridger Ridge. There are endless recreational activities year round including hiking, rafting, biking, cycling, XC skiing, golfing, and fishing in the valley and more for those wishing to take a day off. Bozeman Hot Springs is a great place to soak in 12 different pools ranging from 59° to 106° and wet and dry saunas, along with a live music stage at nights. Take a stroll down Main Street in the town of Bozeman where you can shop local and taste all types of innovative cuisine. The events schedule is constantly injecting life into an already vibrant community so be sure to check out what’s new. 10/10!!! We rented Kyle’s property for a girls trip and the group couldn’t stop raving about how incredible the house was. The house was spotless upon arrival and was stocked with everything we needed! The views were incredible from every window - truly a mountainous paradise - and Kyle was so accommodating and easy to communicate with, even offering an early checkin for our group flying in from out of state. The property itself is also positioned well between Bozeman and Big Sky, perfect for groups looking for a mix of city life and hiking with close proximity to the airport. Thank you for an amazing trip!!

AWESOME PLACE BEAUTIFUL VIEWS!

We had a blast for a get together with some old friends. Sunsets at the place were amazing. We enjoyed the firepit, the hot tub, the grill, and played pickleball for hours. Definitely recommend this location!

Family get together

We came from different states as a family to celebrate my husbands ( father, papa) retirement!’ There were 14 people in all!! This home was very welcoming and perfect for our family!! The grandkids had a blast playing pickle ball, corn hole and playing in the jacuzzi. The beautiful mountains and quietness was just what we needed after a day out exploring!! Kyle was a great host!’ We definitely would recommend this place.

Beautiful Views

We came to town for a wedding at Hart Ranch. The location was perfect for our large group. We were also close enough to take a trip to Big Sky Resort and Yellowstone. Great quiet neighborhood and the views were amazing. The house definitely fit our needs.

Very Clean and Spacious

This property was amazing and was perfect for our group of 8 adults for our annual ski trip. All 8 adults had their own bed. The space was clean and very comfortable. Kyle was easy to work with and very responsive. Highly recommend this space! We will be back!

Our family rented the Big Elk Haus for my parents 50th wedding anniversary celebration. We loved it, the games downstairs were a big hit with the teenagers and the neighborhood is delightful.

Fabulous Family Vacation

This property was perfect for our family of 7. We did not even use the upstairs area. We thought the room sizes were generous and comfortable including the beds. We cooked a lot and the kitchen had every imaginable utensil to make cooking pleasant. We will come back in the future and the host was easy to communicate with when needed. I would highly recommend this house for a family vacation. Oh and the pickleball court in the garage was totally awesome. We had family wars of pickleball followed up with dinner, campfire and hot tub nights.

Absolutely Amazing

By far the most comfortable and nicest property we’ve stayed at. The views were *amazing*!! The sunsets were stunning and being August, honestly lasted almost 1.5h, with constantly changing beauty! Also delighted in the amazing stars and meteor showers- very memorable for the kids!! The beds, pillows, everything were top notch and so comfortable (often a complaint while on vacation)- we all were immediately at home and relaxed and slept great! The house was the perfect base camp for floating the Madison, exploring Bozeman and a day at Yellowstone! We can’t wait to come back! Kyle was also responsive and an overall wonderful host- very impressed and appreciative of his responsiveness and flexibilty!

Gallatin Getaway

I have to start with the amazing views from this house! Stunning and unforgettable. We took so many "put it on a postcard" pictures. The house was very comfortable, the wrap around deck is a highlight. Plenty of spaces to sit and visit. We had 10 in our party and we all had plenty of room. Kyle went above and beyond to make sure our stay was a great experience. Excellent communication throughout. He answered all of our questions and allowed us to check in a couple of hours early because housekeeping was done. Thank you Kyle!!

Beautiful home, gorgeous view

We LOVED our stay at Big Elk Haus!! The home was beautiful, clean, and had plenty of room for our family of 13. Lots of seating in each area of the home, as well as lots of beds. Everything we needed for our stay was included, such as dinnerware, cookware, towels, body wash, dishwasher soap, etc. The deck was AMAZING! Wraparound with a hot tub, table and chairs, loveseat swing, and additional chairs with side table. And THE VIEW! It was lovely sitting on the deck and watching the sunset over the mountains. We loved the indoor pickleball court, ping pong, and foosball. It was also nice that there were a few baby items available, such as a baby gate and portable crib. The owner was extremely quick in communicating, which we appreciated. He answered all of our questions and gave us suggestions as to places to go while we were there. He was very friendly, courteous, and welcoming. Overall, it was a wonderful trip!

Gorgeous home with amazing views!

First of all the host, Kyle is super accommodating and easy to work with. We were looking for a place outside of Bozeman to accommodate my husband and I, my 79 year old mother and out two dogs while visiting our two boys who go to MSU. My girlfriend also ended up joining us last minute as her son is also at MSU. This home is only about 20 minutes from Bozeman but feels a world away. It sits up on a hill and is surrounded by absolute beauty. Once inside the home it is views from every window and there is a huge wrap around deck that allows you to take it all in. The house is nicely decorated with plenty of room for everyone. Huge kitchen with dining for ten at the table with four more seats at the island. There is more than enough space for everyone and the bedrooms are all very comfortable with great bedding and views! The boys loved the hot tub on the deck and it was nice that we could all just sit out there in the evenings and enjoy a cocktail and the views. I highly recommend Big Elk Haus for anyone that wants a bit of privacy with incredible views and a beautiful home!

An amazing house in a great quiet location with easy access to hiking, Big Sky. Bozeman. The views of the mountains, sunrise and sunsets were spectacular. Enjoyed all of the animal activity as well around the property- Elk, Deer, Turkey. Would definitely rent out again.

Amazing house with everything you would need to have an enjoyable stay! Great location; far enough away to experience the Montana landscape, but close enough to get to Bozeman or Big Sky! The set up was perfect; lots to do. We played pickleball, cornhole, fuzeball, and enjoyed the jacuzzi every night. Would highly recommend this house for an amazing Montana experience!!!!
