About this property

Gville and Chill House

  • Summary:

Conveniently located just 10min walk from downtown and 5min drive from UF!

Entire home, 2BR/1BA, 2 king mattresses, 1 sleeper sofa, private backyard, screened porch, and tons of natural light!

Tucked in a quiet neighborhood, it is an oasis within the bed and breakfast district.

Make it your home if you come to a Gator game, for business, graduation, or just passing by.

You can have a fire in the back yard or relax inside and experience the original art work made by the owner of the house.

    The Space:

This space is a 1920s Craftsman home with original floors, windows and plaster walls.

There are two bedrooms with king beds, and a full bathroom that connects them. The sofa sleeper can accommodate two extra guests.

A quaint kitchen with rustic touches and a live edge bar. There is a gas stove and it’s fully equipped with silverware, plates, mugs, pots and pans. You can also find condiments, coffee and tea.

The cozy backyard is great to see woodpeckers, hawks and owls as you sit by the fire place or under the shade of pine trees on the hammock. You can even have the outdoor shower experience!

There is an inspiring book selection, board games, TV, and a couple of new yoga mats in case you’re in the mood ;)

There is a screened in back porch porch with a ceiling fan to enjoy some of those Florida days. The front porch is another spot where you can relax and hangout.

The author of most art pieces in the house is Evan Larkin, the owner of the house. The window pieces in the bedrooms, however, are created by Jonathan Mays, a local artist.

    Guest Access:

Guests can use all spaces. Living room, kitchen, front porch, back yard, laundry facilities.

Parking is available at the front of the house and in the driveway where there is place for two cars. Please note that cars with low clearance are best parked outside / at the front of the house.

Feel free to use the fire šŸ”„ pit. If starting a fire, please make sure you locate the water hose and bucket first to make sure to put the fire out once you are done (for safety, fire shouldn’t be left unattended).

    The Neighborhood:

Located in the gorgeous Bed and Breakfast Historic District, century old Victorian mansions dot the streets. Beautiful oak trees line the short walk to the heart of downtown.

Downtown you’ll find stores, restaurants, and coffee shops. There is also free live music at Bo Didley Plaza on Fridays and a variety of bars and clubs.

Publix and Walgreens are 4 minutes away, and Depot park (one of Gainesville’s largest parks) is just 3 minutes away.

Gainesville is located 30 mins away from beautiful springs such as Gilchrist blue spring, Poe spring and Ginnie spring. If you can, take advantage of your visit and explore those beautiful sites!

    Getting Around:

There are three main transport options:

    1. Gainesville has a system of rental scooters and electric bikes mostly found downtown but can be taken and left anywhere in town (there are no docking stations).
