I felt the stay was overall fair. I was pleased to see laminate on the floor as opposed to carpet. However it wasn't really clean. We opted to forego maid service one day out of the week and after that had to ask each time for any service to be done. The maid lived in site and asked for a ride to the store for liquor one day. We did however get what we paid for.

Basic place to stay. Convenient to Talledega
An old style classic hotel good for a nights stay. Staff were great. Building has been there for awhile but is clean
No wash cloths no towels. Nasty people doing inappropriate things hanging around. The place smells horrible. took thirty minutes to check in. Go some were else
Wow the first room they put us in the door wouldn't open as in it had been kicked in
The second room the carpets were so nasty my 8yr wouldn't walk on the carpets
The toilet leaked the sink leaked
There was dog feces and food on the floor under sink
Oh and did mention I had to request bedding wo cig burn holes in a non smoking room?
Most of the hotels is full of locals and it's right across from wait for it
A strip club
Do not go here!
It's cheap but nasty doesn't een begin to describe it
When we pulled up to the hotel there were several people milling around the parking lot in a suspicious manner. This continued for several hours. It became obvious that this was a hotel popular w/ transients. After dark the parking lot was well lit but the location of the hotel made it condusive to suspicous behavior by some the clientele. On this trip I (male) was traveling with another male. Had I been traveling with a female I would not have stayed at this hotel for one night, regardless of whether I received a refund.
We were given a room advertised as non smoking, the room smelled of smoke, bathroom was mildewed, the tub was peeling and furniture was in bad condition, when we went to the office to
ask for another room the person at the desk was very rude. We did not stay there and went to another
hotel, but were given credit for our payment.
Had to beg for clean towels, and toilet paper. The room was non smoking and smelt like smoke. The room, garbage, and dirty towels were never changed/cleaned in the three days I stayed. Not happy with this travel lodge and will not return.
We spent a total of an hour or 2 at this hotel. It looked so rough and nasty we tried to stay away. There was a truck with 3 slashed tires n front of our room. There were cars and people in out constantly, the room had a terrible smell, no towels, and the lady pushing the cleaning cart claimed not to work there so.......? Around midnight I heard voices out our door so I looked to find a car parked behind our truck and 2 ladies inspecting the truck all thee way around for several minutes. They appeared to b scouting things out and as they walked around the building we loaded up and left. Scariest, nastiest hotel ive ever stayed in.
Only looking for a place to sleep. The biggest problem with the room was the smell & the heater blew out cold air. Will spend a little more to stay in a nicer place. Just rundown in general.
My 8 year old daughter and I (female) booked this room for a half way stopping point on a trip. We arrived at 9pm, lobby door was locked, no one in sight. After waiting roadside for 5 minutes, we were allowed into lobby. The lobby closes at 11. It's a good thing we weren't later. A short drive around the corner, we pulled into what seemed a run down apartment hotel for long term guests. We were gawked at by a male resident. As we gathered our bags, I felt horrible for putting my dtr in an unsafe environment. Room was on back side, no lighting on walkway, strangers hanging out. Room non smoking smelled like musty smoke, huge cobwebs, cut burns on bedside table, dirty stained carpet, old furnishings, poop stain on bathroom door jam, dirty toilet....gross. Free breakfast was one box of raisin bran, two apples. Sleep in your car before staying here...really.
Bad dark location, felt unsafe, the bathroom was not cleaned, no towels, not a lot of room for parking, it felt like red bugs were on the floor, need to hire better cleaning help. I felt like I was staying with trailer trash, not to be ugly. If you ever watch the movie Deleverance with Burt Renolds you would know what I mean. I booked on line did not know the condition of this hotel. I never been to this town. Bad old side of town. But there are alot of other hotels near that looked great. Sorry for bad review.

Good service
I wish i could remember the name of the girl at desk. I got to the hotel around 11 PM and she told me that she was getting worried about as i had given my arrival time as 10pm. She was very friendly , courteous and helpful. She also had a very nice southern accent.

Ok to crash for a night....
The desk isn't open 24 hours, the shower head was missing in our bathroom and the neighborhood looks a little rough. But the room was pretty clean even though we had holes in the bedspread from cigarettes. If it's the boys going to a race or something I would recommend for a cheap place to crash but if taking the wife, I suggest going on down the road.
The room was clean and great for price. BIG problem with their plumbing or pipes. Every time you or anyone in hotel flushed their toilet our pipes sounded like they would explode. It was a LOUD and horrible sound ,like a jackhammer. All the time, night was the worst. Every 15 minutes or so it would wake us up. Again, clean, good room, and service though.

Convenient if passing through -- but bare bones
The hotel itself seemed fine -- bare bones, but as expected for such a good price. However, the A/C was very weak and it took our room 3-4 hours to cool down once we turned it on. Also, the surrounding neighborhood is sketchy and the lobby / office is across the street from the rooms, so it felt a bit isolated from help.
But other than that, the manager was nice, the continental breakfast was tiny but appreciated, it was a great price, and just fine for people passing through and just in need of a place to crash for the night.
I dont ask for much from a hotel but a clean towel would be nice. I stayed 3 nights and had to ask for a clean towel at the office every night. My room was never touched by room service while I was there. The bed was never straightened. Would not recommend this location to anyone until something changes with management.
You get what you paid for here. Cheap hotel prices reflect the quality of this hotel. Not often do I feel uncomfortable in a hotel as this one (I've slept in some nasty places in Iraq and felt more comfortable and safe) and I actually felt concerned for my safety and rental vehicle parked in the lot. It's well worth going to the next exit for a better collection of hotels and places to eat for a few extra dollars
The room seemed aged, with poor appearance (paint, trim, etc.). The non-smoking room smelled strongly of smoke, and the countertop had a sticky residue, which my wife cleaned herself. The comforter had a small blood stain, and looked as though it may have not been cleaned. The price was cheap, so we weren't expecting too much, but it still fell below our expectations. On an upside, the new desk clerk was very polite and seemed eager to make our stay comfortable.
The attendents were very helpful & friendly. Extra towels were provided upon request and the room was cleaned & turned down upon our return each evening. There's not much to do, but it was perfect for us as all we needed was a place to sleep & shower during our trip to Alabama Int'l Dragway. My only complaint was that I did not receive my wakeup call 2 out of 4 days.

Could be better
Front desk staff extremely polite and willing to please. One of the lower-priced hotels in the area. Good room for the money. Cleanliness okay but could be better. Convenient to highway.
