First trip to Madeira Feb 10th to 24th
The property was adequate and very happy with the location.
The road was busy and due to car fumes we kept the sliding doors to the balcony closed which could be a problem in warmer weather.
We contacted the hosts 3 times during our stay and always met our requirment. Towels were only changed weekly so we were given additional towels and washed them ourselves in washing machine.
Although kitchen was generally well supplied we requested a baking tray as there was nothing suitable to use in oven to cook a lasagne.
The light fitting in the main living area had dropped from ceiling one morning with live wires exposed. The host responded immediately and repaired the fitting. However it was not flush to ceiling which was a concern so we did not use that light after during our stay.
Money was deducted from our deposit as we were informed that the microwave was mistreated by us and needed to be replaced. I communicated that we had inadvertently not cleaned the microwave before we left but had cleaned it after each use and noticed that the inner lining was not smooth and there was also so rust on it.
There was a cover to use in micorwave which we did not use every time however I do not accept that we mistreated the microwave. We only used it a few time to heat food during our stay.
We had kept the apartment clean during our stay swept and mopped floors and cleaned toilet before we left.
Unfortunately this soured relationships with the owners and therfore would not use again. In future when I stay anywhere I will take photographs as evidence on arrival to avoid anything like this happening to us again.
