"We originally planned to spend our first night in Ronda, but with the Feria in full swing, Saturday night was likely to be lively. With a 6am flight from the UK we decided that relaxation was the priority — and Hacienda Fresneda María delivered exactly that. Set amongst beautiful olive groves with wonderful countryside views, the Hacienda is a wonderfully peaceful retreat. From the moment we arrived, the staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful and welcoming, even arranging an early check-in at 1pm so we could make the most of our short stay. Our room was beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable, with a balcony overlooking the olive grove. It was also wonderfully quiet — exactly what we needed before an early start the next morning. Food was another highlight. We enjoyed breakfast, lunch & dinner during our stay, all featuring excellent-quality, locally sourced produce. Everything was beautifully prepared and thoroughly enjoyable. The outdoor area, with its small swimming pool, provided the perfect place to relax & unwind in the sunshine. It really is a setting where you can slow down and simply enjoy the surroundings. Although we stayed for just one night en route to Córdoba, we were left wishing we had booked longer. Hacienda Fresneda María would make an excellent base for exploring the beautiful Pueblos Blancos of Andalusia, as well as the surrounding area. A peaceful, charming and highly recommended alternative to staying in busy Ronda."

"Great Hotel, staff, restaurant food was amazing, rooms fantastic. Garden and pool fantastic. Location fantastic. Taxi ride to most tourist destinations was ordered at reception no problem not expensive. Breakfast not as good as expected but lunch and dinner were outstanding. Bus location 1 minute from the hotel. 😊"

"Advance communication from David about check-in and parking was first class. Spacious, spotless and modern apartment was fantastic. We didn’t use the available parking, we were fortunate enough to get a space at the church at the top of the hill. The town, bars, restaurants are only a 5 min walk away but the hill will be a challenge for some, so be aware."

"The rooms are basic but very reasonably priced and very clean, with aircon and storage for clothes, just what you need! Breakfast at 6euros/person was lovely and served to you in your room. We ate out on our room balcony with breathtaking panoramic views of the castle and surrounding mountains. Lots of hot water, clean fresh towels (daily if required) and shampoo supplied. TV in the room and a full size fridge so you can easily self-cater if you are travelling on a budget. Rooms are so reasonably priced! Our hosts could not do enough for us very helpful, knowledgeable and informative. Hostal Duran is right at the edge of the bustling village, filled with cafe's, bars restaurants (tapas was a favourite for us) and shops. There is also a very clean outdoor public swimming lane pool and a leisure pool, with the fabulous mountains for a back drop at 2euros/person(cash only for the pool). A couple of parks for younger kids, a winery for the adults, a selection of clothes and souvenir shops, a local pharmacy and a high street bank. Great air conditioned direct train link to Malaga Central and a regular local bus service (cash only for the bus). Local taxi drivers are a fountain of knowledge. Andalusia is the home of flamenco steeped in history with hidden gems such as Alora, a must see!"

"The villa is very large and spacious. The pool and area is great, there is a small play area outside the villa for small children. The area is residential with some holiday homes so very quiet. The owner of the property is fantastic, he could not do anything more for us. He gave us his whatsapp and if we needed anything at all he would arrange. The oven was playing up so he replaced it immediately, he looked after the pool personally on set days as agreed with us. If you needed anything he would help. We met by chance in town and he offered to buy us a drink but we were just visiting the pharmacy so did not indulge. All the bedrooms are very spacious and two have electric blinds. Two bedrooms have a shared balcony with good views. Good size kitchen, outside pool toilet which is very handy, no wet feet in the lounge. We stayed for a month and would have been very happy to stay much longer. The town is small and residential so limited tourist areas which was brilliant. It has all the basics you would need. There are two supermarkets, pharmacy, ¾ resturants/cafes, few bars and a couple of kebab shops. Enough for a few evenings out but no clubs etc so a typical small Spanish village. We wanted a villa holiday, and live as if we were locals and it was perfect for us. We did visit Seville and Ronda a couple of times as they are only an hour away and Malaga and Malaga airport is only 50mins. If you are looking for a quiet area with a large villa and not a tourist spot this is great"
