"On the website it says Pet fee waa EUR12 but when we checked in they demanded EUR18 which is too much for a roadside motel. At this point, we had no choice but to check in. Even 4 star hotels do not charge this much. I would not stay again for this reason."

"Well, you can sleep there. The food sucks, it was cold and a buffe a 10 year old with an interest with food could outdo xD my mom has works in a resturant for 18 years and i have loved to cook for all of my 27 years i've been alive, and paying 22 euro per person for that is a joke, you even had to pay for coffe, most drinks where allready done and in buttles, i would say the best part of the food was the hot chocolate you hot to breakfast, witch by itself was warm milk and powder. Your 10 year...

Hotel Smart Liv’In

Hotel Smart Liv’In

10/10 Excellent

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Freiland?
The best area to stay in Freiland is directly within the village centre, particularly around the main road, Freiland 1.

This central area offers convenient access to the village's primary amenities and attractions. You'll find the local church, a few traditional guesthouses, and eateries within a short stroll. The village is located in a valley, providing picturesque views of the surrounding hills and forests.

For travellers looking for a peaceful retreat with easy access to nature, staying in Freiland's centre is ideal. The nearby hiking trails, such as those leading to the Falkenstein ruins or along the Erlauf river, are easily accessible, making it great for those who enjoy outdoor activities and a quiet setting.

Couples seeking a tranquil escape will appreciate the relaxed pace of life here. The guesthouses often provide a cosy, intimate setting, and the local restaurants offer opportunities to experience regional cuisine without needing to travel far.
When is the best time to go to Freiland?
The best time to visit Freiland is during the late spring and early autumn months, specifically from May to June and September to October. These periods offer pleasant weather for exploring and a generally relaxed atmosphere.

For those looking to enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and cycling, late spring (May-June) is ideal. The countryside is lush, and the temperatures are comfortably warm without being too hot, typically ranging from 15°C to 25°C. This time of year is superb for couples or solo travellers who want to explore the scenic trails of the Mostviertel region, which surrounds Freiland. You'll find the local vineyards and orchards in full bloom, offering beautiful photo opportunities.

Early autumn (September-October) is another excellent choice, especially for visitors interested in local culture and culinary experiences. The grape harvest season brings many regional festivals celebrating wine and food. The weather remains mild, usually between 10°C and 20°C, and the changing colours of the leaves create a stunning backdrop for leisurely drives or walks.
