Loved the large kitchen, the abundance of natural light and the two patios. Layout of the house is perfect for a large group: Plenty of space to be together, but there are also lots of spaces to enjoy separate activities. Very comfortable and we appreciated the outside beauty, quiet and privacy. Would recommend that cloth towels be added to the kitchen, as well as a quantity of dishwasher pods equivalent to the number of days guests are staying OR an advisory on the property listing that guests are expected to bring their own. Jamie, the property owner/manager, checked in to see if we were comfortable and was very quick to respond to inquiries. The property is actually about 25 minutes from downtown Fredericksburg, so a little longer than we expected. Definitely recommend the Farmer's Market in downtown Fredericksburg, as well as Orofino Italian Restaurant. We enjoyed our stay. ##### Terese G. A beautiful property with responsive landlords . Bring your own shower soap and you’ll have everything you need. We had all adults so the children’s bedroom was wasted on us. Traffic is a bit of a struggle going south to the civil war sites ( including Fredericksburg ) but the site itself is peaceful and quiet. Recommended ##### John B. We recently stayed at Carter House four days mid-September for a family reunion. Eight adults stayed at the house and 10 local family members visited. Large play area in basement was perfect for the children. Plenty of room and comfortable furniture in spacious great room for adults. Decor added to comfortable atmosphere. We had good weather so first floor deck with outdoor couches and table were used all weekend as was the fire pit at night. Very large lot provided privacy. And the basics were done right. Very clean, Bed linen and pillows were in good shape. Someone said cookware and serving dishes were high quality. I can’t think of a thing to improve what is their. ##### Mel R.
