Totally relaxing weekend
Beautiful cabin, and just like the description it sits right over the waterfall. We spent most of our time on the deck facing the waterfall in the comfy Adirondack chairs. The location is very convenient, easy to find and well within short, traveling distance to many hiking and tourist opportunities. A beautiful place and we would definitely stay again.

Nice place
It was a nice place, lots of outdoor space to enjoy, but didn't realize the neighbors were going to be so close. Not to much privacy. Road noise was annoying all night long. Beds were comfy. Shower was good. The waterfall made up for it all....sound was amazing relaxing and soothing (once the neighbors went in). Nice location being right in between towns of Franklin and Highlands. We enjoyed time in both towns.

great spot on Ledford Creek
Was a very nice relaxing stay, cabin is super cozy and tidy. A few things to bear in mind when booking: there is little to no cell service at the cabin. The wifi connectivity can be spotty due to lightning strikes taking out lines. There is a fair bit of road noise at the cabin. It is not super private, the neighbors are quite close by across the creek.

What a simply amazing place. Our family weekend trip could not have been complimented any better than by staying on this property. Besides being central to The Highlands and Franklin, the home was quite inviting. The pictures provided of the waterfall dont do it justice. The sound coming from the falls is so relaxing and the deck is very spacious. The falls was surprisingly larger than i was expecting. We all truely appreciated our stay

The cabin was beautiful! Very clean. Everything was provoded that you need while awhile. Road was loud. Neighbors had a barking dog. We enjoyed Highlands and Dry Falls. Beautiful

Perfect place for a quick getaway
We loved our long weekend in the mountains at the Waterfall Cottage! It was easy to find and was everything we had hoped it would be. The waterfall is RIGHT next to the cabin and the sounds of the water are peaceful and calming. The beds are really comfy and the sheets are VERY soft. There are plenty of wine glasses and we even found a puzzle to get into on a rainy afternoon/evening. The cabin is very close to Highlands via a beautiful drive (a little scary at some parts actually, I'm glad we drove it in the daytime!) and we came back from Lake Glenville one afternoon from the other direction - also a beautiful bucolic mountain drive. We were very happy here and definitely would like to return soon!

A really beautiful place.
Really well and thoughtfully appointed cabin. The waterfall is real, just as pictured. Comfortable furniture, beautiful blankets and throws, nice wall art and rugs. The decks are great. All the pictures in the ad are accurate. It’s a quick drive into Franklin which has some good restaurants. The drive into Highlands takes a bit longer but it is spectacular. This is a really great cabin for a nice getaway.

Perfect getaway!
This beautiful property exceeded my expectations! The cabin was extremely clean and the outdoor space was incredible. The waterfall was absolutely gorgeous and it was so nice to enjoy it from the porch. The host had tons of games for little ones, patio chairs for the adults and many small amentites that were definitely not expected but made our stay great. We will definitely be back and we are so grateful that we were able to enjoy your wonderful property!

Great Location
We visited the week after Christmas and the location is great. The view of the waterfall and surrounding area is amazing. The location is great and is close enough to Franklin to access the restaurants and things to do without feeling like you have to plan a trip. Would definitely return.

Cozy, relaxing and peaceful
My husband and I enjoyed a blissfully relaxing weekend at this cozy cabin. This secluded property is wonderfully close to all of the waterfalls along scenic 64. The kitchen has ample supplies for cooking and the furniture is well made and comfortable. We slept in the upstairs king bed, which feels like a tree house 😄. The mattress was firm, yet soft and was perfect for my bad back. Great place to get away and renew!

Perfect Getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin has everything you'll ever need and the outdoor space is amazing! Although we hardly ed the kitchen, it is well equipped and stocked with spices and condiments. We only used the bedroom downstairs and the bed was very comfortable. Plush white towels were plentiful. Paper towels and toilet paper are the thick kind, not the cheap 1 ply vetsions! LOL. Sounds petty but these little things are game changers for us! It is what we are used to and what we would have for our guests... these show us the owner takes great pride in making their guests feel at home. We will definitely be back! Thank you Nancy and Joa for sharing your wonderful cabin!

My college roommate and I Started and ended every day sitting out on the porch overlooking a beautiful waterfall scene. The house was so comfortable and accommodating it had everything needed. We were close enough to enjoy tubing down the Tuckasegee river, visit several water flood falls in the area, and enjoyed lunches out Franklin and Dillsboro. All around- great experience!

Best Vacation Rental!
We always stay in a vacation rental when we travel. This property is the most beautiful, comfortable, and centrally located home we've rented! You will not want to leave! The owners are super nice and accommodating. Franklin is a great place to visit with plenty of activities to keep you busy. The best part is coming home every evening and sitting on the porch watching the waterfall. Do not hesitate to rent this property!

Scenic Mountain Getaway
The property was exactly as pictured on the website. The cabin deck overlooked a beautiful waterfall and was comfortably furnished with everything we needed for our stay. The fireplace provided a cozy, warm retreat from the cold. The location was excellent for exploring historic downtown Franklin and near great hiking trails and horseback riding.

Lovely spot, feels like a private waterfall
We enjoyed our stay very much. Everything was exceptionally clean and tidy and the kitchen had everything we needed. I feel like the living room could have benefited from a good reading light. It was a bit dim as the ceiling was so high. We tried to turn off the outside spot lights to save some electricity but couldn’t find the correct switches! We loved the fireplace, very cozy on the night we used it. Another plus for me was that the road to the cabin was wider than many without a steep drop. Thanks for sharing your spot!!

Very relaxing week.
Beautiful water fall and cabin. Only draw back is proximity of neighbors. They had a large family and the deck is higher than the neighbors. When they were outside the fire pit and sounds drifted heavily onto the deck which made us retreat to inside. However, the inside of the cabin is so cozy with the fireplace and sounds of the waterfalls lulling us to sleep. Most stress free week of my life. Not really equipped for elderly or handicapped with many steps for entry.

Our Favorite Mountain Get-A-Way!
We love this place! It is charmingly decorated and very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped. The deck overlooking the waterfall is amazing! So relaxing to watch and listen to the flowing falls! You can go into the town of Franklin, or travel to Highlands for a day trip. Plenty of hiking opportunities. We'll be back again next year!

Noisy-Not Private Location
The pictures you see of the inside are accurate. The ones outside not so much. It’s a beautiful deck and beautiful sounding waterfall. HOWEVER, what you don’t see (intentional by angle of pics) is the neighbors cabin right in your face as you overlook that beautiful waterfall. It’s a large rental cabin. During our weeks long stay the first renters next door had 4 dogs that barked and the renters after them were a LARGE group of about 13. You also share the walk in part of the waterfall with them. So it was like being at a hotel pool only with dogs included. So quiet time on the deck was not happening. There is also the busy road that the cabin is directly off of and I mean DIRECTLY! When I read the description of this property being on 5 acres plus the pictures I assumed it would be fairly quiet like the other cabins we rented on this trip. Not so. It was either extremely close neighbors (you can literally toss them salt and pepper) or the cars that you can hear and see flying by. I’m shocked other reviews haven’t been more harsh. The WHOLE REASON for staying in the mountains is for peace and quiet. I’m trying to get away from city sounds not take them with me on vacation. Before you book ask for more outside pictures and an address so you can clearly see on google maps where the road and neighbor is located. Then decide and not be surprised like we were. I would not have booked this place due to close proximity of neighbor and road had pics been more accurate. Pros- The owner was responsive when I had a question, water pressure was great for my hair, WiFi was good, king bed was comfy.

Dear Amy. We are so disappointed that you felt compelled to write this negative review. We corresponded a dozen times during your stay. You never once mentioned that you were upset about the neighbors, the traffic or location of our home. Our description clearly states our cabin is nestled in a cove near other properties. It also states that it is dRoad irectly off of a county road. There is no deception in the photographs of the property. That is our property!! Just so you know Amy, they have closed Highlands Road, due to construction. So, unfortunately, the traffic was re-routed to Walnut Creek Road. Of which, we have no control. Had you brought your complaints to our attention during our many communications while you were there, We would have gladly refunded your $$ and you could have stayed elsewhere. We have hosted 100's of guests. Never have we received a review like this! I have tried to contact you 3 times, but you will not return my calls! I would appreciate you taking this down. We try very hard to keep our property up and beyond high standards. And... We make it a priority to communicate with our guests, before, during and after their stay. We are not mind readers! Waterfall bliss
The property was simply beautiful and well equipped with everything we needed. We had such a wonderful stay! The deck overlooking the waterfall where we could grill out and the wood stairs on a cute well lite (nice for night) wood path to the top and bottom of the falls made it truly unique. The family in a cabin on the lower part of the falls didn’t take away from the stay at all, we enjoyed it and felt like we had our own private oasis. Can’t wait to stay again!

Great waterfall
Sat outside every minute we could. Wonderful weather. The town of Franklin is so so. We drove to Highlands, very nice. Restaurants were good, but like everywhere they have a help problem. One of the best, REL, was very short staffed and did good service, but didn’t have full menu. I would definitely good back to this home.

Summer vacation
We really enjoyed our stay at the waterfall cabin. There was plenty of room for my family of 4 plus my mom. My aunt and her family of 7 used the bunkhouse and it was perfect. Even has its own kitchen! Our dog, Thor even enjoyed the stay and the dip in the waterfall. The waterfall was absolutely beautiful day and night! So peaceful to hear the sound of the water! We will definitely be back!

Great getaway
Everything was good. The house was clean and the location is convenient to everything. The only thing is that there is a house right across the Creek which is very close and you share the waterfall with them. My 8 year old and myself had a lot of fun in the Creek. It was awesome being right next to a clean creek and there were days when we felt no need to go anywhere since we were right on the water. My wife and I enjoyed having meals and coffee on the deck overlooking the Creek.

Loved having our own waterfall!
This property is located between Franklin and Highlands, so you have lots of choices for getting supplies, going to church, hiking, and seeing other beautiful waterfalls too! We loved spending time on the very large deck next to the waterfall. We agree with other reviewers that even though the neighboring cabin is quite close across the creek, it never was a problem. I think the constant flow of the waterfall just makes everything right! Thanks for your hospitality and sharing your comfy cabin with us. The four of us had plenty of space and everything we needed.
