Beautiful, very private, secluded lake house. wooded, trails, rhododendrons in full bloom, well manicured lawn with gardens. The property and house were beautiful. The house is lovely, comfy and homey, well stocked kitchen. the kids loved the kayaks, fishing, and swimming, and the fire pit. It was a very peaceful vacation. we will definitely be back.
Relaxing, beautiful, peaceful. Great fishing, bass, blue gill, sunnies, carp. Huge decks with grill and plenty of seating. Large fire pit area and fishing dock. Wi-Fi was excellent. Fun decorations throughout the home, loved the couch and great fireplace. Everything you could possibly need in the kitchen! Awesome outdoor shower! Ample parking.
Our host Annette was kind and helpful and truly had our best interests and enjoyment in mind. Thank you, we had a wonderful time!
Our family loved everything about this property! The home was pet friendly and the host was great with wonderful communication! The check-in/out process was easy. Beautiful scenery all the way to the property and even more beautiful views from the home. Everything in the home that you and your family would need!
We loved every minute at this property. The setting is amazing and the house has everything you need. Having the private fishing pond right at the door was perfect for the kids! I loved watching the otters every morning while drinking my coffee.... was very hard to say goodbye and go back to the real world. Will definitely stay here again!
Great location to get away. Cell service was not available as to location in mountains, but great way to disconnect. Kids 12/13 did not come out of the water the whole time, lots of fun for them. Great porches to sit, relax and have family time. Highly recommended for family get away.
Very secluded wonderful home. This cabin has everything you can think of...towels, blankets, sheets, dishes etc. We had a grand time... we swam and fished in the lake, our Golden Retrievers also had a blast. We brought our telescope...the sky here is so dark and beautiful making it easier to view stars. Definitely highly recommend, we will stay here again.
Beautiful home, amazing property. We swam in the lake, caught a ton of Bass and Sunfish, spend hours chasing around the large lake carp, enjoyed the firepit, and never left the house the entire week! The home is decorated like it is from a magazine, beautiful high end furnishings, everything very well thought out. Annette was great to work with - we booked for the same week again next year!! You won't be disappointed with this home!
Very nice property. Kid and adult friendly. Rained all week and could not use fire pit due to wet wood. Wood is not in dry area for use. Laundry room is outside of house in basement area. 30 minute or more drive out to activities if you venture out. But over all good place to stay.

Lakeside oasis
We brought our grandkids ranging in age from 9-18 to this magical oasis. They spent hours in the water playing with rope swing, swimming, fishing, paddle boating etc. We took Annette's suggestions and explored the nearby waterfalls (kids favorite was Bust you Butt falls). They slid down the waterfall and jumped off the cliff. This is a great place for families! The house is well equipped for cooking and plenty of space for those seeking solitude. I spent every morning on the deck with my coffee before the kids woke up just enjoying the cool air and great view. Loved this place!
What an amazing vacation! My family had such an incredible experience and we are so grateful to have had the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful property! This home is well stocked with everything imaginable (both necessities as well as recreation), and the rooms are so comfortable. The scenery is gorgeous and the lake was a huge hit with our kids. They swam every single day and my husband enjoyed fishing every day. There is plenty of wood ready to use for fires, and the outdoor porches are so comfortable and well-appointed. We spent all but one day at this home and enjoyed every moment. The one day we left was just to go visit the waterfalls given the close proximity, and appreciate having done so, but we easily could have spent all 7 days here and never felt bored. Annette is wonderful, the house and property is just spectacular, and my family actually got know one another again. We unanimously decided this is our place for next year’s vacation!
We stayed here in July and it was perfect.
It is a beautiful drive through the mountains no matter which way you come.
The property is very private, very secluded, and probably off the paved road about 1/4 mile, (not that there is any traffic on the paved road).
The house has everything you need except food, and sits on private property on a pond with a view of the mountains.
The kids swam in the lake, fished, and boated.
There are many things to do within 30min to an hour drive. We went whitewater kayaking with Dillsboro river company, (highly recomended), hiked to more waterfalls than I can count, though many of them are right off the road, visited gem mines, dined and shopped in the many picturesque small towns in the area, and just spent quiet time at the house some days.
We will be back, it was perfect.
Thank you Annette for our perfect vacation!
Beautiful scenery, private & tucked away. Cozy and well stocked home. Fishing, kayaking, walking, making s'mores in the fire pit and relaxing on the deck. Outdoor shower is fun! Just the place to re-connect with nature! We stayed 3 weeks and enjoyed every minute! Annette is very attentive and helpful. Highly recommend!!
The entire process and dealing with Annette was a pleasure. The house was great, had everything that we needed. The setting was so very relaxing and the lake was fabulous. Could not have picked a better house.
This our third stay at the house, we absolutely love it, it’s great for the family , house has all you would need and you can’t beat the location and view, I highly recommend this location to anyone to anyone who wants to get away from it all
If you want to get away from the busy life and put yourself in the comfort of home In the middle of nature's beauty right outside your door, this is the place for you. While having all the conveniences of modern living, the activities that are available at
Lakeside Cove include kayaking, swimming, fishing, grilling, hiking and all the privacy you need. We ended up spending more time at Lakeside Cove than sightseeing because we were so comfortable there. Annette was extremely helpful in giving us local information that enhanced our stay. Keep in mind that Lakeside Cove is in the mountains, but we had no problem finding the place or getting around. We plan on returning to this location again.
We rowed on the lake, walked around the property, fed the fish, relaxed on the porch bed/swing, used the outdoor shower, cooked meals in the well stocked kitchen, collected colorful fall leaves and disconnected for a bit. This is an older but updated cabin which had everything we needed. Beds in two of the rooms were a little too soft for our liking and it would be nice to have another bathroom but we made it work. We hit some waterfalls in the area and wandered around Cashiers and Highlands, a nice trip. Thanks Annette!
We had a lovely stay. Everything was even better than described. This is not a place to stay if you want to stream internet. It’s a place to reconnect with your loved ones and enjoy the beauty of the property.
This was the perfect location for my family to take a week away during the heat of summer, it is on definitely on our short list of homes to return to in the future. The location is quiet, the views form the porches are beautiful, and the home itself is comfortable. Our two children (9 & 11) had plenty to do between the swimming and paddling around the pond, fishing, the abundant games, and the wide selection of DVDs. The beds are all comfortable. The internet is sufficient for checking email but doesn't have the bandwidth to support video meetings; this was very much a plus for me, as it kept me from getting sucked into work during time I wanted to spend with my family, but I was plugged in enough to know if a situation at the office needed my attention.
We brought our two dogs along, and plenty of blankets/sheets were provided to put over couches so that they didn't leave fur on the nice furniture. We love that this rental is supportive of vacationers with dogs.
We enjoyed travelling to Franklin and, especially, Sylva, both of which are relatively close.
Annette was very helpful and checked in a few times during the week to ensure we were getting along fine.
What you can see in pictures is not even close to reality. This house, the lake and location are unbelievable!!! Plenty of things to do in the property, from fishing, swimming, boating, or just walking around and enjoy the beautiful landscape. We had a great time.
Tons of things to do around the area. We went hiking a lot, enjoyed swimming in different waterfalls, rafting, zipline and horseback riding. And after all the activities, come back to a great place where you can relax.
Thank you Annette for all your help, texts and recommendations! Great Host!
My family and i were looking to get away from it all and that is exactly what we got. This Lakeside Cove is beautiful, remote, and surrounded by natural beauty. We had a great time in the lake, fishing, playing games, exploring nature and reconnecting.
One thing to note is that if you are hyper connected, this isn't the place for you. There is internet, but it's basic - which I loved, but I know isn't right for everyone. This property is great to reconnect by disconnecting.
Overall, we couldn't have had a better time and hope to be back!
We loved staying at this house. If you need time away from the world this is a place to stay. You can go on the boats are just sit on the deck and watch the fish. The boys caught fish, lizards, Tadpoles ,frogs and had a blast. Annette was so helpful if you had any questions you can call her. She was a blessing. The house was very clean and well maintained. Annette decorated it so pretty. I loved it. I would stay again.
The location of the house is very good. Our children had a lot of fun outside and inside. Pedal boat, canoe, lots of water games, fishing, ... There were a lot of DVDs and family games. the interior of the house is beautiful with a lot of private belongings of the owner. The cleanliness was OK. Our family felt very good here.
