Unfortunately the midday sun wasn’t conducive to photo quality. Off US395 about 5 miles south of Coso Junction you’ll find a turn off for Fossil Falls and a well maintained cinder road leading to a parking area. A short but rocky trail leads to Fossil Falls, formed by the now dry Owens River as it carved its way through the basalt rock. The trail is not well defined in some areas and can be rocky (not wheelchair accessible) but short enough to make for a few minutes walk. (160 reviews) The hotel is very convenient, centrally located and walkable to everything...shopping, restaurants, the pier, and the beach. Our room was a bit outdated but very clean. The tub is ridiculously high, almost as tall as the sink height almost making it a safety issue. It was very frustrating to have to ask for washcloths that weren't replaced on multiple occasions. One elevator was out of service so the stairs to the 5th floor became a routine. The cafe was overpriced for what was offered in my opinion. I would stay again only for the staff. They were soooo pleasant and helpful! (1,546 reviews) As a person who runs a cleaning business, i understand cutting costs with cleaning products, but i feel like the products that has been used smells really bad. Scents can improve wellbeing, and the minute I stepped in the hotel and the hotel room. It doesn’t smell clean and fresh, smells like dirt covered in flowers, using deodorant on top of smelly armpits. Unfortunately that’s how I felt. It’s a nice place, paid extra for a nice view, but other than that, I’m not impressed. The place has a very cool vibe tho.
