Indifferent service. I arrived at 10pm after a long journey and was very tired but had to wait 10 minutes before somebody was available to check me in No central heating in very cold bedroom ( no 9) and no hot water . Tacky little room carved out of a bigger one. Entire hotel has seen better times . Aspired to Exotic Marigold Hotel but failed

We had to tell the staff about the rustiness of the place, I suffer with asthma and I had a very bad flare up, for the price for those nights I would expect the place to be more clean than it was. Areas of the room were not hoovered and there was dust everywhere.

We had to wait 15 minutes before anyone even showed up at the reception desk, 3 of the 4 coffee cups in our room were still dirty and sticky and the bathroom was not clean the back of the door was covered in stuff that wiped off if you touched it so would have been easily cleanable and there was hair in the bathroom that didn’t belong to any of us which I found very gross.

It seems to me that the room was not occupied for a while. Everything was dusted, and there was garbage under the bed. The room was not soundproof either.

Awful stay, had to leave early!!
I stay in hotels frequently with work around the world and this I quite possibly the worst I have ever stayed in!! I had to check out two days earlier because of this! Woke up both mornings I did stay with fresh bites on my legs. I come back from work late around 2300-0000 to a freezing cold room and no hot water (they only have the heating on during set times along with the hot water I guess). The duvet on the bed was so thin so I barely slept due to being absolutely freezing in bed! I ate once in the restaurant I had the chicken curry, if you could call it chicken, mainly grizzle and awful, couldn’t finish it along with the microwave rice. By the second cold sleepless night I decided to check out at around 0600, enough was enough for me. Went to reception to check out and no one there, rang the bell several times and waited about ten mins still no one came so I just left the card and went, I’ve also messaged them 3 times via the hotels.com app and no reply!! I left my charger in the room as I packed in a hurry!! Terrible hotel please don’t stay here!!!

Friendly and efficient staff. Some flickering lights and a bulb out in the bathroom and fan heater broken. Nice touch with crisps and chocolates in the room but not replenished on third night.

You can hear your neighbors in the next room. Our bathroom had a leak in the ceiling. Staff was polite and friendly. Did not try the food because we chose to eat outside of the hotel. Checking in and out was easy.

Excellent location, couldn't be better. Easy access to the area and the facilities were in great condition. Definitely will be back if I am back in the area. It's a solid 3 star hotel in a good location. I paid double in Inverness for a hotel that was advertised as a 4 star but was not as good as this one.

Located at the end of high street with private car park, this hotel has amazing views of the water. The amenities and breakfast were very good, unfortunately the desk staff was either having a bad day, or just hates their job- not friendly.

Beautiful luxury hotel It will not disappoint you.
This hotel has a fine location with awesome views. In easy reach of local shops and restaurants in town centre. The Hotel is very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and the decor was beautiful. Staff are friendly relaxed and helpful.

Staff was courteous. Location was excellent. Food was good. No air conditioning. Could've been handled better with at least providing fans in the rooms and sheets versus blankets. Without those alternatives, it was impossible to get a good night's rest. Opening windows wasn't enough and added to the noise factor. Opinion shared by other guests travelling from US and Australia. Reception's response that there is no air con in Scotland is completely untrue since it was not an issue elsewhere in Scotland in all ranges of hotels. Also, while the housekeeping came in to change towels, did not make the bed.

Yes, this property is unique. It is a 150 year old hotel, so the rooms are small and the bathroom is minimal. Trying to find places for 2 suitcases is a challenge. However, the buffet breakfast is quite good and the staff friendly. For a chain that prides itself in high end resorts, this one can use some sprucing up.

Hotel still needs a bit of refurb from someone competent, rather that an "it'll do" maintenance guy. Examples are toilet roll holder at a 45 degree slant due to a missing screw, ditto shaving mirror (screw again), sealant/caulk around various areas clearly hasn't been applied by anyone who has done it much before. Public areas are OK, staff are attentive, we didn't try the food as we had a reservation elsewhere but the hot breakfast items were fine. We wouldn't have gone for any of the Indian items on the menu as we've all lived in Leicester(shire) for decades. Needs a bit more attention to detail in terms of maintenance/decor but they're getting there. I do understand that Muthu hotels have their own ideas about decor but in this hotel they need to decide which way they're going because trying to combine Indian and "Highland" decor isn't going to work guys :) I'd stay again.
