About this property
Lakefront Country Haven near Ocala & Forest -With Canoe, Lifejackets and Grill!
Absolutely stunning lakefront home (one of my 3 available to you) sits on 300 feet of shoreline on Miles Kale Lake in northeast Marion County (between Ocala, Gainesville, & Palatka) near Orange Springs, FL. Incredible renovations were recently completed including a fantastic addition. The Great Room of the house, built in 1949, sports beautiful tongue and groove wood paneling and a beamed ceiling. The new addition includes a convenient large gourmet, dine-in kitchen, a spacious laundry/pantry, a new full bath, and a fabulous screened porch overlooking the lake. Large Pella picture windows allow viewing the lake while cooking, dining, and relaxing. This tranquil lake retreat is minutes from the Ocala National Forest, numerous springs, the Ocklawaha River, and the charming towns of McIntosh and Micanopy. The dock is great for fishing and the lake for swimming. Miles Kale Lake is about 40 acres. Check out my other homeaway lake places -- listings 117133 and 910353.
Activities & Attractions: Tranquility, views, relaxation; swimming, fishing, boating -- sandy bottom, spring-fed lake; snorkeling in the springs; using nearby rivers (Oklawaha, St. John's); Silver Springs Amusement Center; University of Florida & Central Florida Community College; Ocala Horse Farms; McIntosh 1890's Days; Micanopy artist town; easy drive to either coast (Daytona or Cedar Key); Disney - 2 hours.
The house has new, outstanding mattresses in the bedrooms: a Supplepedic Memory Foam mattress, and a new Serta Pillow-top comfort mattress. The trundle bed in the sleeping alcove makes two twin beds and has two new single regular mattresses. To accommodate a seventh person, there is a twin mattress under the queen bed in the master BR. It can be moved to the living room.
Other Lake Options: I have two other lake cottages. One is next door on its own acre. It is homeaway listing/Property ID 117133. This allows guests the option of having large groups or reunions close by to enjoy being with one another. I have rented both cottages for this type of gathering many times. Then, on the next lake over, big Island Lake, I have another fabulous home in the woods: homeaway listing/property ID 910353. It is a fantastic 2BR/2BA large redwood cottage with the option of a guest house on the same property. This retreat sleeps up to 9 comfortably. It too has a dock and boat house.

The cottage was great and appreciated that it was clean! The space worked perfect for our family of three - and the dog loved it too.
Thanks for being a great host.
My family and in-laws gathered for a three day weekend for my daughter's sixth birthday and the place was great! Very clean, lots of space, and the canoe/outside area was very nice to have. Definitely going to try and book this location again in the future!
This cottage is comfortable and beautiful! Whoever designed its renovation took care to keep the charming feel of the original bones. The pond was so peaceful. We truly fell in love with the property and it was hard to leave to head home.
The property was clean and comfortable. We were in the area to attend an wedding. It would have be nice if we could had a few more days to enjoy the property and do a little fishing. Great little place to go and do a little relaxing.
The house was more immaculate in person, pictures did not do it justice once we were there. We arrived at dark so we didn't get a good view until the next day when we woke up, but it was breathtaking. Definitely our best stay yet, cannot wait to revisit in the future. Clean and comfy, cozy house with a lot of useful amenities offered. I would give 10 stars if I could
Overall, we really enjoyed our month-long stay. Its pretty centrally located between Ocala, Gainsville and St. Augustine, so plenty of day trips available. Don't miss Silver Springs State Park and the new World Equestrian Center in Ocala! The cabin is cozy and roomy. The screened porch facing the lake is wonderful. Beds are great. Couch and chairs in living room not so much. We would stay again
Great place. We really enjoyed how quiet it was and the privacy. Great view, great lawn and fenced yard for our dog was fantastic. We highly recommend this property.
Annual stay for me and my family, great friendly neighborhood and very clean / neat property. Always a pleasure to stay

We highly recommend this place!
We have stayed at the green and red house and had an awesome experience. We loved every single thing from these two places. If you want to have a really good time this is the place to stay. We are looking foorward to go back pretty soon!
Love this location on a lake in the forest. It's so quiet and relaxing. The screen porch is lovely, and the kitchen is fantastic to cook in. We spent 2 months here, and we didn't want to leave, lol.
We loved this lake house and will definitely be back! Our dogs enjoyed the run of the lake and yard. Our kids loved swimming in the lake. The canoes were nice to use and the house was clean and had everything we needed! Thanks for sharing this beautiful spot with us!

Great updated property in a quiet setting.
The house was a pleasant surprise. Nicely updated on the inside. Had access to a canoe which was great. The biggest thing for us was dog friendly. Very nice relaxing weekend which was exactly what we were looking for!
We loved this lake house and will definitely be back! Our dog enjoyed the run of the lake and yard. The house was clean and had everything we needed! Only one of the canoes could be use the other was damaged.
Thank you for letting us stay at your home. The house was wonderful to stay in, we enjoyed all of it including the screened in porch. Our dog was right at home. Very relaxing watching the lake and birds. We ventured out each day to hike different areas of the Ocala forest. Great place to also hike was the Ravine Gardens State Park near Palatka.

Great weekend stay! Very peaceful
Thee Four Horsemen came down from SC for the weekend to catch the South Carolina/FL game in Gainesville and we couldn't have gotten any luckier that we found this little slice of heaven. The house was very nice and perfect for a guys trip. It's right on the little lake and we were able to get a little fishing in before the game. Ride to Gainesville was very easy and little over 30mins to get there so we would recommend this location if anyone stays in the future looking to catch a game.
We would definitely stay here again should we ride back into the Gainesville area.

If you can't relax here, then you can't relax.
I will truly miss this home. It was peaceful and quiet. Clean and accommodating. From the well stocked kitchen, to the plentiful linens for the bath and beds you won't need much. We really enjoyed the rides in the canoe, sitting on the dock and relaxing in the screened in porch. A wonderful cozy home that we will return to in the future.
