"Best surf view in Fort Bragg."
Having read other reviews, I was unsure what to expect, as they seemed to be all over the board. My experience was- The staff was fine. They did what you'd expect, in a pleasant way. So I don't know if that makes them merely good or Great, but no complaints there. We had a room on the ground floor. The patio is rather small, but it fits two chairs and a cooler just fine. It has a railing, which obstructs the view for some. The bed has plenty of pillows, so if there are shorter people, you can stack up the pillows to see the view. There is a recreational path right outside the hotel. This was described as bothersome in some other reviews. It didn't bother me at all. There was a coffee maker and a fridge in the room, but no microwave. The fridge did not seem to get very cold. The thermostat in the room apparently does not work very well, as we were advised "if you're cold, turn it all the way up, and if you're hot turn it all the way down." The toilet is a round shape, not water wise. For a hundred bucks you can get a water saving, comfort height, elongated bowl from Home Depot. I'm just saying. The bed has probably seen better days, but, face it, it still has some usefulness left in it. There was a square table and two chairs in the room, free wifi, a 42(?)inch flat screen tv, with lots of channels available. Overall. the hotel would benefit from a (not major) renovation. But you won't find a better view anywhere in town. I checked as we drove around.
