"Fantastic hotel, great views, great staff"
This little hotel was fantastic and we were really disappointed that we only chose to stay here for one night.
Upon arriving by shuttle bus from Tikal, we were greeted at the front gate and had staff help us bring our bags in. It had been raining and the entrance was a little slippery (be careful if it's wet, we both nearly busted our butts slipping on the tile).
We requested a 7am shuttle to the airport for the next morning and were advised that breakfast doesn't start until 7am. We changed the shuttle time to 7:15 so we could quickly eat and go. I was asked our breakfast choices so that it could be made ready for 7am for our early dearture.
One of the staff members showed us our room. The room was like a small apartment; living room (sofa, sofa table, tv), dining table, kitchen (fully equipped), washing machine, bathroom, bedroom with huge closet. He made sure we knew there was homemade chocolate soap in the bathroom (omg, it smelled so good). He made sure we knew how to use the AC. Did I mention there was AC? The AC worked great. He showed us a map of the island, made recommendations, and let us settle in.
After we went around town for dinner, we came back and enjoyed a fabulous view from the rooftop of the hotel overlooking the lake with a bottle of wine. They have hammocks for the rooftop as well if you want to lay back and enjoy the view.
We both slept well on the comfortable beds, the AC keeping the room cool and less humid. At 6:55am we went to the rooftop for breakfa
