On the evening we arrived Wafa took a lot of time to ensure we felt welcomed and fully briefed on the facilities of the Gîte, and gave us some very useful information about Ferrette. Eric arrived a little later with a bottle of local wine to welcome us - a really wonderful warm gesture. Ferrette is about 25 minutes drive from Basel, or 20 minutes from Basel airport. The drive to Ferrette is beautiful, winding through a couple of small French villages and overlooking Basel in parts. Ferrette itself is the authentic small French village - very well stocked local supermarket, and two very good cafes. The Gîte is a fantastic building, with very beautifully preserved windows, flooring and décor. Both the adults and the kids in our group loved it all. Es ist genauso so schön wie auf den Fotos zu sehen! Das WC ist separat, was bei einem 4-Personen- Haushalt sehr angenehm ist. Bettwäsche und Handtücher (inkl. Bademantel!) sind von bester Qualität. In der Küche lässt es sich wunderbar kochen und essen und trotz der Hitze war es mit Hilfe der Fensterläden angenehm kühl. Wir wurden äußerst freundlich empfangen und betreut und konnten sogar viel früher als vereinbart einziehen. Auf der Terrasse über dem Garten und im Seitengang kann man gemütlich etwas trinken oder in Ruhe lesen. Man kann sich auch tageweise zum Frühstück anmelden. Den kleinen Ort mit Bäckerei und Lokalen kann man gut zu Fuß erreichen, man muss allerdings einen sehr steilen Berg hinunter/hinaufgehen. Die Umgebung ist fantastisch und von der Burgruine, die ebenfalls gut zu Fuß zu erreichen ist, hat man einen tollen, weiten Blick. Als Tipp empfehlen wir ausgiebige Waldspaziergänge oder einen Ausflug ins nahe Basel mit Schwimmen im Rhein und natürlich alle anderen schönen Städte im Elsass! ##### Claudia P. Die Vermieter sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Ferrette ist ein hübsches Dorf, gute Bäckereien und ein Supermarkt sind vor Ort. Man kann von dort aus leicht Ausflüge in den Jura oder auch nach Basel mit seinen spannenden Museen unternehmen (knapp 30 Min. entfernt). Unseren Kids haben besonders die nahen Burgruinen sowie die Basler Papiermühle gefallen. Wir kommen gerne wieder! ##### Holger Z. The setting was very lovely - a beautiful village surrounded by great countryside. The apartment was beautifully presented and had everything we needed. The owner was on hand to welcome us and help us with ideas for excursions. We enjoyed the many local walks, the views from the castle and the nearby towns, markets and sights. Nous n 'avons pas été déçu lors de notre séjour dans ce très beau gîte. Nous avons très apprécié une excellente literie et le calme favorisant un très bon repos. Toute l'infrastructure est mise à notre disposition pour le bon déroulement du séjour, vaisselle etc . La documentation sur la région est suffisante .Il y a pas mal de très bons restaurants avec un rapport qualité/prix intéressant. Noël dans cette région du sud Alsace est aussi merveilleux par la décoration superbe des maisons typiques. A voir absolument . Nous sommes certains que l'été, tout doit être également très agréable. Les propriétaires très sympas et nous recommandons bien entendu leur gîte. ---
