"Rooms are clean. Beds are comfy. Air conditioning is good. The pool is cold. The hot tub seems too hot. Sauna is good size. Breakfast is good. The Pub is a bit of a let down but maybe it is just the selection we ordered. Excellent staff service! Overall a good experience."
"Friendly and Honest staff. Forgot some clothing there and when i called, they had already had it in a bag with my name on it and allowed my friend to go pick it up for me. Will stay again."
"The staff cared only about catering to their friends and off-duty coworkers. I watched them turn people away at the door, citing maximum occupancy as their reason, when they were a birthday party for an off-duty staff member and they had plenty of room. I was also turned away because someone in the bar gave me a beer. As a 31 year-old, it was not a pleasant experience to be chastised by a 20 year-old over someone else giving me a drink. I've never had this happen before. It was beyond unprofessional for someone who barely wanted to acknowledge anyone besides his friends to cut my friend and I off when we weren't causing problems. I also found garbage around the room I stayed in and hair in the shower. Nothing horrific, but enough to see housekeeping did not do the basics. As someone who has worked on security and housekeeping in the past, I was not impressed. I would have been written up or fired for such conduct.
It seems like they need someone older, more experienced on hand to make sure the young guns are not playing around with their friends and to guide them on how to properly serve people, especially older individuals. This is a textbook case of young kids not doing their jobs due to lack of supervision and proper, training, and work ethics."
"Kitchen lacked bowls for salad and fry pan was badly warped. Toilet had black lines under rim. Toilet paper rough and unabsorbant. King bed was fabulous!!"
"We stayed in the King Fir building, which has the pool and hot tub, very convenient. The pool and hot tub area was clean and well maintained, and a great way to unwind after skiing. We also walked over to the Spruce building to use the sauna, although only one was working during our stay.
The unit itself was clean and comfortable. Beds were comfortable, and we all slept well after long days on the hill. The building was generally quiet, which made for a relaxing stay.
Laundry is available on-site: $3 to wash and $3 to dry, and machines only accept loonies, so come prepared. The parking lot developed a few potholes overnight due to rapid melting, but maintenance fixed them immediately, which was great to see.
The kitchen was well-equipped with plenty of plates and cutlery. It’s essentially like renting a condo, so plan to bring basics like condiments (ketchup, etc.), Ziploc bags or containers, garbage bags, detergent pods, and robes for the pool. I brought paper towel and hand soap, although hand soap was provided this time.
WiFi worked well for basic use, and a big plus was having cable, many units don’t, and since I don’t use Netflix, this was a nice bonus.
Check-in was straightforward and easy, which made arrival stress-free.
Location is excellent and about a 4-minute walk to the Fernie Alpine Resort ticket office, which made mornings very easy.
Recommend the short hike to the waterfall that’s right behind Fernie Visitor Centre called Fairy Creek Falls Trailhead. "
