"Truly excellent place to stay. Staff were all lovely and worked very hard to make our stay comfortable. Breakfast was as good as you could possibly imagine. The setting, the buildings and the property were all as good as anyone could expect. We had a minor issue with our room that we was quickly resolved and a manager followed up with us to discuss it and ensure that everything was satisfactory. Couldn't have been handled more expertly. 11 out of 10!"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Fenagh?
The best area to stay in Fenagh is directly within the village itself or in the immediate surrounding countryside.

Fenagh village is a small, quiet community centred around the historic Fenagh Abbey and two lakes, Fenagh Lake and Lough Scur. The village has a few local shops and pubs, offering a genuine taste of rural Irish life. It's a place where you can enjoy walking by the water or exploring ancient ruins without the hustle and bustle of a larger town.

Couples looking for a peaceful escape will find the village and its nearby accommodations ideal. You can spend your days exploring the abbey grounds, enjoying leisurely walks along the lakeside, or simply relaxing in a tranquil setting. The focus here is on quiet enjoyment and connecting with nature and history.

Families might prefer staying in self-catering options just outside the village. These often provide more space and amenities, allowing children to play freely while still being a short drive from the village's gentle attractions.
When is the best time to go to Fenagh?
The best time to visit Fenagh is typically during the late spring and summer months, from May to September, when the weather is at its most pleasant.

During these months, you'll find longer daylight hours and generally milder temperatures, making it ideal for exploring the Fenagh visitor attractions and the wider County Leitrim countryside. This period is superb for outdoor activities like walking, cycling, or enjoying the local lakes and waterways.

For visitors interested in local events and cultural experiences, particularly families, the summer months often feature community gatherings and festivals. These can offer a lovely insight into local life and provide entertainment for all ages.
