Evenings were spent relaxing with the fantastic antique books there at the Salty Cribb II, magically transporting us back in time. So much history, so much local great food, awesome sunrises and sunsets. We enjoyed gorgeous water views, with several days of local yacht racing. We experienced delightful encounters with wonderful people. The beds were nice and comfy and the house is well appointed. We had everything we could have wished for. Kinda felt like we were in a Vrbo ad… The house is a beautifully renovated old home just across from the water, and a couple hundred yards from the beach. Lots to do and see. So nice to start and end our days in such a beautiful and well appointed home. Loved starting our day on the porch with coffee looking out at the ocean. The house is lovingly restored and very tastefully decorated. We found it very clean and extremely well equipped with anything one can think of! The location is great, a quiet side street and the shoreline is directly in front of the house across the street so one can spend a lot of time watching the tide roll in and out and ships sailing by. It's about a 20 minute drive to anywhere from it such as Lunenburg or the La Have area. In the dark at 5am they shine their lights, it's like watching moving stars. For New Years we had fireworks viewed across the water. Back Road Map book showed us beaches, trails, roads and we did 1300 km in two weeks. Loved it all. Rose Bay General Store and Lehave Bakery/Bookshop are awesome. The house is cozy and elegant. The house has lots of big rooms large kitchen with Island, dining room, large living room with direct view of Ocean, nice side room. 3 large bedrooms upstairs. Laundry room/powderoom. Off kitchen. Every morning I would sit looking out the window from the 2nd floor landing. 2 bedrooms have full oceans views. Good back yard for the kids to play and sitting area. Lovely large front porch which we used all the time. Very clean. So nice. The house is decorated like a magazine.
