"With full transparency, I had no idea what I was getting into with respect to the Nalu Retreat property near Halifax. I'm not a Yoga person, or really a "laid back" person. I like action and adventure - but I was needing a place to lay my head in the Halifax area on September 23rd, 2026 for the one night, flying in from Winnipeg. Checking out the Expedia site for accommodation, I saw the "Domes" and thought that was kinda cool & unique. So, I took a bit of a gamble and booked. I definitely hit the jackpot with this property! I got in late (11:45pm), but the directions & instructions provided by Sandy were excellent. While there was some path light assisting in finding my "dome", it was the clear sky and the very bright stars that paved my way. What a glorious surprise when I finally got into the room. I was expecting rustic, what I got was beyond 5-stars! Gorgeous amenities, perfect bed, programmable fireplace, bathroom, etc - all well beyond clean and inviting. I LOVED the absence of tv & radio (although the wifi does work perfectly), so it provided a very calm and inviting refuge. My 30+ daughter and one year old granddaughter picked me up the following morning to take me to Halifax. My "boujee" daughter could not believe the accommodation, vista and all round "vibe" of Nalu. My wife and I are making plans to come back in the fall of 2027 for a longer stay and a chance to truly enjoy all this retreat has to offer. On a scale of 1 to 10, this is a definite 11!"

"The room was beautifully decorated with a beach and ocean theme, and the fine details were clearly considered including a very well equipped kitchenette, soft robes and so much more. The view of the beach and ocean from the room and its location literally right out your door was the experience we were looking for; and the hike to the peak overlooking the ocean was a great perk. Jane is a wonderful, friendly, attentive host, and gave us all the privacy we like. The exterior of the property building needs some TLC and updating, and the indoor hottub was not in a setting we would choose personally. Otherwise it was a really beautiful experience!"
