I was notified the day before my arrival that there had been an act of God which prevented me from staying in the reserved unit. They had double-booked it. Probably to someone staying longer than me. They put me up in a temporary place the first night and then moved me to a unit adjacent to my reserved unit. I assumed it would be comparable. When it was not, I complained and requested a discount. I was refused and told they were identical, which either means they misrepresented the first unit or were just trying to placate me while I took the crappy one. My stay was then shared with a couple large cockroaches, loud snoring from the adjacent unit, and yelling by the guy’s wife to STOP SNORING! The latter was at least entertaining. I don’t blame the owner for the snoring or thin walls. And I wasn’t upset by the drain issues in the toilet and tub. It happens. They did at least send someone the same day to clear it. However, I consider his responses to my complaints unacceptable and dishonest. On the plus side, I had a place to stay despite the double booking, it was in a good location, and it was affordable.
