Great quiet private get away
Fabulous cabin in the woods feel. View from breakfast table looking down at the water is awesome. Lots of stairs and decks. We are pretty fit but over sixty, we held on to the handrails. Beds are very comfortable. Getting into the canoe from the dock or swim ladder would have been dangerous for us. We canoe and kayak often but usually from a ramp, shore or bank. If your bring a boat it would be perfect. Negotiating the driveway the first time should be done in the daylight. Even with the challenges for seniors this cabin is a really special experience and Sammy the host is very helpful.

Fairplay on the Lake
Nice house, great view of the lake and trees. Very quiet, squirrels were working overtime keeping up with the falling acorns. Lots of great deck space in the back. Outside TV room was a bonus for watching football.

An Easy and Relaxing Lakeside Retreat
This multi-level lakeside cabin is comfortable and cozy. We especially enjoyed warming by the fire table on the lower balcony overlooking Lake Hartwell. The furniture and decor are tasteful and appliances are up to date and in good working order. Booking and check-in were flawless.

The house was located in a quiet neighborhood. The home was very clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. The outside decks were well set up with various places to hang out. We didn't have time to explore the lake but maybe next trip. I would definitely stay there again.

Hillside Cabin
We had a great time at the Pangle Cabin! The cabin was clean and as described. It had everything we needed and more. Beds were comfy, loved all the sitting areas. There are a lot of stairs, so don’t book if that is a problem for you. We hope to return in the future.

And well maintained immaculately cleaned cabin. Property owner responds immediately. This property is well listed everything was very accurate. Very good Wi-Fi for on the lake! We had zero issues The only slight problem we had was the upstairs bed was a very old box spring bed. However downstairs bed is very comfortable! The dock is much bigger than pictured. Plenty of room to swim around and fish

We arrived at night but was very easy to find. The lighting is great and it's a cozy little cottage. Quiet area and a great little dock with plenty of fish to catch if you want to fish. We were there to give away a scholarship in honor of my son for the national high school fishing tournament and it was perfect and not too far of a drive at all to green landing. It was the perfect place to stay for us. We loved the outside TV area at night. This place I highly recommend for 4 people but no more than that will work. Only one bathroom makes it a little hard if you stay in the room downstairs but it's a great place. Will definitely stay again.

Lots of character
This little house has so much character. The decorations fit so well with the interior. It is thoughtfully stocked with pretty much everything you need. The dock slip is great for up to about a 22' boat and the cove is calm and well off the main part of the lake, so your boat won't be beat to death by wakes. The neighbors were warm and welcoming. Highly recommend this little place.

This cabin was a hidden treasure. Unfortunately, my husband and I could not stay as long as I wanted; but the short time we were here was amazing. Great get away, quiet, peaceful. Very very clean inside, 1st class.
Only thing that was on downside was steps down to front door from parking and steep steps to dock. Wife is handicapped, so was hard getting her up and down steps to front entrance. Didnt even try to get her done to decks or boatdocks. Still enjoyed immensely

Went to get away from the hustle and bustle for a couple days. The location and cabin were amazing. Just the right size for a single or couple. Everything was provided and perfect. Can't wait to go back.

Nice spot for a much needed break
The cabin was the perfect size for our escape from reality. We had an issue upon arrival and Sammy was quick to have it addressed. The master bed was very comfortable and we appreciated having the washer/dryer to use during our stay. The walk to and from the dock was quite the workout but nice to have access to the water from the property. I was not able to catch any fish from the dock but it was nice to make the attempt to catch something. Overall we were happy with our stay at the cabin.

We loved Fair Play. The cabin is incredible. Super comfortable and cozy, with an amazing deck and beautiful views. Close enough to Clemson to make game day easy, but it felt like we were in the wilderness. The cabin had all of the conveniences we needed and then some. The neighborhood (and the neighbors) were just first rate. Highly recommend Fair Play if you are looking for something near Clemson but quiet and comfortably rustic.

Wonderful lake front property
This was a great place to stay for a few nights. The home itself is very cozy and clean. I would rate it 5 stars as the great things outweigh the less than great. Pros: -Amazing outdoor space with 5 levels of decks and front porch -Private dock with paddleboard and canoe -Large clean kitchen and living room space _Stocked with all the essentials you need (except note that the owner only leaves 1 roll of toilet paper and 1 roll of paper towels) -Would be amazing if you brought your own boat as there is a launch very close by and you can keep the boat right at the dock Cons: -The bathroom is extremely small (especially the shower) -The walk down to the dock is very steep (not a problem for myself but I wouldn't recommend for small children or elderly) -The fireplace can not be used until Oct. 1 (we were there a few days before and would have enjoyed it) -While the home feels secluded and private even with neighbors...at night if you are a light sleeper there is a lot of loud traffic noise from the highway across the lake.

Clemson game/lake weekend
Inside was clean, but the outside was not. The chairs on the deck were filthy so we were not able to enjoy the fabulous deck. We weren’t there much because we were at a Clemson tailgate and football night game all Saturday. But when we returned home, the kitchen table was covered with ants. There is a crack in the kitchen table where food/crumbs have accumulated over a period of time that attracted ants. We killed/cleaned the table and used something to remove as much as the food buildup as possible. Beds were comfortable.

Great part of Hartwell for fishing
Nice cabin and all the necessities were available for cooking and spending the week. NO Internet - and the phone service was very low signal. We didn't have a real need for being on line but if you want to use a computer online you are out of luck. The steps are mentioned by many people. It is a real climb to get from the lake to the house. Someone said 200 steps to the lake which is an exaggeration - there are actually 75 steps but they are pretty steep. and from the house to the parking are 14 steps that are less steep but not hadicap accessible. Not the right place if you have mobility issues. But it's an awesome, private, quiet cove with good fishing in the area if you are spry.

The stairways going to the front door and pier can be constructed better.
Insecticide could be used prior to renting. Outside windows could be cleared of webs. Over all, nice place.

Incredible artistic retreat
My family and I totally fell in love with rustic, artistically decorated to the "T, " cozy and romantic, multidimensional Hartwell Lake House. Amazing, amazing, amazing time had by all four of us, be it fishing, jumping off the dock, reading in any of the incredible decks or aspiring to be a visual artistic and being over the moon inspired by this tranquil home. Thank you for sharing with us, we will return!!

Decompress and surround yourself with nature
This place was beautiful and so unique. There were different levels outside to hangout at, which I loved. The beds were comfy! The atmosphere was great. I loved the private dock area with the canoe and paddle board available for use. I will definitely come back to unwind and enjoy some time on the lake.

Such a cute little treehouse tucked right off the lake. There are A LOT of steep steps to tire out the kiddos and give the adults a good workout. It was a relaxing getaway for our family!

Fantastic Break!
Beautiful place.. Plan to live on the decks and enjoy the outside. Boat ramp is nearby, dock is very well maintained... the cove is wonderful. Yes, you can hear I-85 (about a mile away) but that is the ONLY thing that takes away from this well-provisioned getaway. I hope to get back again!! Definite recommend!

Hartwell bucket list trip
Our cabin was the perfect base of operations for our week-long fishing trip. Made for a restful, safe place to come home to after a hard day of fishing. Kitchen is superbly stocked. All you need is your food. Beds and furniture are comfortable and clean. Great view of the lake from the back decks (yep, more than one). Quiet neighborhood with wonderful neighbors.

Great Weekend Away
Great cabin. Easy to find and access. Was spotless upon our arrival. Nestled in the side of a hill so be ready for a workout coming up from the dock. Tons of space outside to just hang out Cabin was actually roomier than what the pictures showed. Everything as advertised. Great place to come and just decompress. Highly recommend!!!!

Wanted to take my girlfriend away for a mini getaway for our anniversary. This place was beautiful, quiet, and cozy. We had a super relaxing weekend together and we had a lot of fun. This place might just be our yearly anniversary cabin get away. 10/10 home was very clean and cozy. Only thing that would be a nice addition would be wifi with phone signal not being all that great there.

This was an excellent property with lots of amenities that suited us well, although there was lots of rain it was fun and comfortable. The only complaint was the stairs, with all the rain the stairs leading down to the lake were very slippery, the steep angle of them didn’t help either, but overall a great visit.

Perfect Weekend
My family (husband and two boys, 5 and 2) had fun staying here. We lived being on the lake and being so close to places we all love. I had seen in other reviews about the steep stairs to the boat dock. However, I was concerned about the platform closest to the dock that was tilted toward the water and had the handrail only on one side. We walked slow and helped our 2 year old with that section (5 year old handled it like a pro after the first time). However, even as an adult it was concerning. There is also exposed insulation around the door to the closet downstairs (not very much but enough for a curious kid to get to). Pillows were also to firm for my liking but I could have remedied that easily by bringing our own. Overall it was a great weekend and our 5 year old was already asking to go back before we had even left the street.

Nice Quiet Week Away
The cabin was cozy and comfortable for our family of 4. The area is quiet (rarely saw the neighbors, when we did they were very friendly). We had a great time swimming, fishing and paddleboarding while we were here. Not a lot of restaurants immediate to the property but we made a number trips that were in the range of 20-30 minutes to find places for dinner. The cabin is located about 40 minutes south of cool hiking opportunities that led to seeing some beautiful waterfalls. Overall our trip was great!
