These include the Etosha Camping Safari, the 10-Day Namibia Camping Adventure and Etosha Photographic Safaris. The park varies dramatically in scenery and terrain, depending on the season. In the dry period from May through October, much of the vegetation turns arid and dusty. Arrive in the wettest days of February to see the salt plain turn into a lagoon decorated with pink flamingos and pelicans. The name of the park means Great White Place, in reference to the salt plain at its heart. Pay a daily fee to enter and get free entry for kids. Etosha National Park covers a large portion of the northern part of Namibia. It is in the region of Kunene, near the areas of Oshikoto, Otjozondjupa and Oshana. Fly to the Windhoek Hosea Kutako International Airport and rent a car.
