This property takes the concept of low-budget to a whole new level, and my standards aren't very high. It looked nice from the outside, but inside was pretty grungy...not dirty, just grungy. There was such an unpleasant odor in the room when I entered, (which I think was bleach) I actually thought of leaving. Also, it was skimpy with toiletries. Positives include not only a low price, but the staff was very nice and helpful, the TV and wifi worked, I felt safe, there was a cheap gas station right across the street and it was the easiest on/off the highway I ever encountered. Yes, I would go there again.

For a low budget off the highway hotel this was clean, and a great location. However, the electrical system made a buzzing sound every few minutes all night long making sleep impossible. A hole in the bathtub was patched over with a plastic mat. Plenty of deferred maintenance. Also, no fresh coffee was available anywhere.

Nice place to stay
The best place to stay for us when we are in town Emporia, va. The on and off I-95 is excellent north or south bounded. The Truck stop is across the street within 2 minutes walking distance with a Huddle House and pizza restaurant. I stay here very often when traveling south. The hotel is within 10 minutes of Cracker Barrel one exit up or 301 north when the instate is backed up along with several often dinning establishments.

It’ll do ..
This was our second stop here . The rooms and the hotel are old and dated but it is clean . The location feels very safe and is convenient to 95 . There is a Huddle House across the street . It’s older but still ok for a cheap overnight stay traveling on 95 . Pet friendly!

Good room for an affordable price. Excellent customer service that listened to and corrected my issues in a timely and efficient manner. Specifically they helped correct a mis-booked travel date. Stayed 2 nights and will stay again next time i need a room in that area.

It was really not a pleasant stay. We didn’t even stay for an hour and we just checked out coz the place smells and dirty. When i wiped the surfaces, it was brown and the tv remote was black. I wiped them twice and it still has dirt.

The property is very old and definitely needs updating. I had to unplug the microwave to plug in my phone charger. Duct tape on bottom of door to unit which was falling off. I had to push the door and lock it or it would swing open. Drapes dry rotting and furniture needs replacing. There are no restaurants close (unless you go to a truck stop across the road.)

Fun and easy stay.
This is nice place to drop in on your way to your final destination. I like the staff and small business feel to the place. The rooms solid and your parking spaces are assigned right in front of your room one car per guest. There is additional parking off to the side within view of all rooms. There is large vehicle parking along the front and in back if your towing car trailer. very clean place and when I have my dog he is welcome. My girl and I often meet half way between her job and mine to spend the weekend together. Which is comfortable place close to serval places restaurants with 10 minutes or less with traffic from the I-95.

The place needs a MAJOR,MAJOR CLEANING smells like rodents,roaches or something the A c unit was filthy overall disgusting we were traveling driving from florida,stopped for some sleep but after about 3 hours we left we could not sleep the smell is overwhelming

How pleasantly nice.
It was the most reasonable 3* motel we could find. We were pleasantly surprised how nice it was and accommodating for our 2 dogs. Definitely recommend

I got there and the lady at the front desk spoke zero english, I told her I was checking in and my room was pre booked on hotels.com. She told me there was no reservations for me even after I showed her the itinerary number. So I went across the street and stayed there. So I spent $70 and didnt even get to stay there.

Older hotel in need of updates, but the room was clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The refrigerator in my room was not working properly, and they brought me a new one out of storage! There was no odor of cigarettes and no bugs. You could hear noise from the road if cars or trucks were loud. I rode into the town to eat but didn't find anything open. Ended up going to the Huddle House located across the street. When I travel I'm just looking for a place to spend the night that's clean and convenient. I think some people that write these reviews expect a 5-star hotel for $70/night.

I did like the quiet. I was very disappointed there was no pool like in picture. Pool doesn't exist & i only booked because i wanted a pool. Also extremely disappointed in expedia since app gave me issues after booking, & of course no refund with no pool.

Check in last night with the female clerk was great. The room left a lot to be desired. The whole place really needs updating. The bathroom scared us so much we did not even shower there. I even found either refilled or reused shampoo bottles in bathroom and an empty fireball bottle on closet shelf. There was only bedside table and the desk chair had broken wheel. The front door had the sticks in holes after the incense had finished. I would avoid unless they update everything.

Described as a no frills motel. That was accurate. Everything worked. My biggest problem was the bed. I've stayed in many motels in the Emporia/Capron area the bed was the most uncomfortable of any I've slept on. Other than that, it was fine.

Adequate overnight stay.
It was “proletariat” accommodations for workers. No frills place with basics: bed, small fridge, microwave, TV, bathroom with hot & cold running water, nicely functional heater. Very old but slightly spruced up. Carpet & Upholstery were ancient and somewhat, um, “tired”… Place quiet & restful; perfect after a long drive. Used to be called “Red Carpet Inn” according to the laminated TV channel guide.
