Emma Wood State Beach

When we arrived at the Glen Tavern Inn, they were set up for a pretty decent sized wedding. Honestly, had I known, I would not even have booked this place. It was actually a large wedding (over a hundred people, easily) and the lot of them were staying at the hotel. What this meant for us "outsiders" was that we had none of the advertised amenities available to us. It meant the entire staff was fully occupied with them (at one point the people that worked the front desk were too busy serving drinks and food to the reception to deal with regular customers) and had zero time for the regular customers. They didn't even have a pot of coffee in the lobby for the guests in the the next morning. We couldn't go into the restaurant or any of the outside areas as they were all taken up by the wedding party. It felt like we were literally jailed inside our tiny hundred and eighteen year old rooms. The reception was held at the hotel which (LOUDLY) went on until 10pm and I assumed the only reason they stopped at that time was because of the city noise ordinance. For the next two or three hours we got to listen to stumbling, drunken, revelers loudly stomping around, screaming and laughing in the hallways and slamming doors constantly from all directions around us. We booked this room for two days, and left after the first day. I didn't even bother to ask for a refund for my prepaid second day before we left as, I knew it would be a waste of time. Really sad experience.

The hotel is starting to show its age and should be updated.
