I arrived late, rang the bell and quickly checked in. While the room is small, it was spotless, with a great shower! The bed was also very comfortable. The next morning, I had a fantastic breakfast at the on-site restaurant/coffee shop. The staff at the hotel and at breakfast were amazing. At the tail end of my breakfast, they had started their (impromptu?) local church service in the coffee bar area. The room opens up to a big outdoor area, so it's extremely easy to to take the dog out. There was a small fridge and microwave so we had everything we needed for a night's stay. The only thing to know is that you have to go down two flights of stairs to access the room which may be an issue for some. It was clean and had a great backyard space to relax in. There is also a restaurant barracked to the lodge which is convenient and a little postal office/convenience store. The staff is very friendly and quickly accommodating to any needs. The lodge is tucked away in a quiet, but not too secluded spot, so it’s very easy to find, yet is in a safe area & away from any busy traffic. The highway is just up the road, but the road noise gets muffled a bit by the forest between - very nice! Nothing special and low frills. The past 2 times we stayed, we were in a different room. This time the room was definitely older and needed repair. It was clean, plenty of towels, and the staff was friendly. And my kids got to play in the snow right outside our room. Hope to return in the summer to enjoy the firepit and outdoor areas.
