Ellershouse Holidays from £1,099

The arrival experience was good but the appearance from the outside left a lot to be desired. It looked "worn" and unkempt. The electrical does not appear to have been upgraded in the building. There were outlets that didn't work, room lampshades not secured, a large family of big black spiders were making webs on the entire outside top portion of the bedroom window. The outside glass was filthy and nothing was done when reported to the front desk. A large spider dropped down in front of the entry door when we returned back from sightseeing. Again, nothing done and none of the staff wrote down any of our complaints/concerns, except for the desk clerk when we checked out. The complimentary breakfasts were inconsistent in quality and temperature. The sausages were raw on the second day and they didn't replace them or take them away. One two slice toaster. More of the chandelier bulbs were burned out in the eating area than there were lit. The fire door on the 2nd floor to the stairwell did not close and the striker plate was bent, causing the door to be ajar. We went to the lounge and had good, attentive service on the first night but the 2nd, the server sat in a corner booth and used a laptop with someone. We were ignored had to ask for service. The server did not appear to know how to mix a Caesar drink. Very poor service. We would never recommend this facility. You can't just put in some old furniture and vintage dishes on display and call it boutique.

Everything was unique especially the automated system. Enjoyed the spa. We had some difficulty using the living room tv. Could not find local channels. Everything was LG channels. Otherwise the location, decor and amenities was extraordinary. We will tell our friends about this wonderful place.

This was a very well kept and comfortable property. It had all the amenities required. There was a fair amount of road noise as the street outside is fairly busy, but that was minor.
