Stayed there 2 nights and was all we had hoped for. Comfortable bed and chairs. Will stay there when we return to visit family.

The Meaning of 'Weekly Housekeeping'

When we booked the room, we overlooked the 'weekly housekeeping' statement on the website. Please understand thd meaning of weekly housekeeping...if you want clean towels you have to take your dirty towels to the front desk in order to receive clean towels; if you want your sheets changed you have to take your dirty sheets to the front desk and exchange them for clean sheets; and if you want your trash can emptied you havd to walk to the dumpster and empty it yourself. We were in town for the Notre Dame graduation and did not have the time or the desire for additional things to do. The hotels needs to specify on their website what the phrase 'weekly housekeeping' actually entails. Other than that, the hotel was acceptable.

Acceptable--but I'd pick an alternative.

We arrived at about midnight to discover that in spite of expressing a preference for a room with 2 beds, the room only had one bed and the hotel was almost sold out. The helpful front desk clerk presented a variety options--first that we could use a rollaway (except there weren't any), second that we could move to a room available for just one night (but that would risk not having any place to stay the second night as somehow they would sell our prepaid room) or third, take a room for both nights that had what she said was "a slight odor". The only viable option was the third and the room did have a faint odor but it was okay. In the end, an okay stay, but somehow they didn't seem to understand that since they had my money, they were obligated to provide rooms for two nights The hotel is a bit worn around the edges. No breakfast but there was a microwave and mini-kitchen in the room. The price was good for a hotel that was in Elkhart on a football weekend, but I would not stay there again if an alternative was available. Arriving at 1AM to discover that you need to figure out your room is off-putting.

The sound of guests walking in the room above us was so loud that I would not stay here again, and I'm NOT a light sleeper. It's a shame, because the hotel was nice otherwise.
