El Santorini Colombiano

ELCIELO was a wonderful stay, and the El Poblado location is hard to beat. La Provenza, restaurants, nightlife, and parks are all within easy walking distance, and Ubers are readily available. Our room was clean, comfortable, and incredibly restful. I slept very well! Snacks and beverages were consistently replenished, and the spa service was well worth it. Our only room challenge was traveling with our son. We could not book two separate beds, so an additional bed was placed in the room, making it a bit tight with the king-size bed. We did have an issue with the air conditioning. We noticed water on the floor beneath the unit, and another morning we were awakened at 5:51 AM by dripping water. I contacted the concierge immediately, and it was addressed by the end of the day. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. We also did the ELCIELO Michelin-star dining experience. It is pricey, but the food was delicious. The yuca bread was my favorite, although it was so filling that finishing the full experience with wine pairings was a challenge! Overall, we really enjoyed ELCIELO. It is clean, comfortable, beautifully located, and an excellent home base for exploring Medellín. I would definitely return.

Very disappointed with my recent stay. I had stayed at this hotel in the past and never had an experience like this, so I was especially surprised by the condition of the property this time. The hotel was extremely dirty and the room did not feel properly cleaned or maintained. There was a visible stain on the sheets, which was very unpleasant and unacceptable. On top of that, there was no hot water during our stay, which made the experience even worse. The rooms clearly need to be updated and, more importantly, cleaned and maintained to a much higher standard. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not stay here again. It’s disappointing to see how much the hotel has declined since my previous stay.
