Despite its name, El Dorado is known for its bounty of oil, not gold. The city, which is nicknamed “Arkansas’s Original Boomtown,” is the seat of Union County. Discover its many attractions of historic sites, cultural events, fine dining and shopping.
In 1921, oil was discovered just west of El Dorado. People flocked to the city, resulting in a population boom that never quite died down.
