The refrigerator had lots of leftover food in it. The coffee maker had old grounds left in it, the toilet was dirty, the shower was dirty and had hair in it the outdoor garbage can was full, no garbage bags in any of the indoor cans, the place was not cleaned. It was disappointing to have to use a dirty toilet and wasn't about to use the dirty shower. We kept our food in our coolers and bought new coffee filters to use. I normally clean my room before I leave but I didn't do any cleaning when we checked out considering that the place was not cleaned before we checked in. I will say that the owner showed up as we were leaving and apologized for the condition we found it in saying he wasn't aware and said he would refund the security deposit. I didn't know that I paid a security deposit. I paid for damage insurance through VRBO. So I guess I won't be getting anything for my last vacation with my dying wife being less than ideal. The rental was to celebrate our 49th anniversary before my wife dies from terminal cancer.
