![On the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua, Pearl Lagoon is yet to be discovered by the majority of tourists. With the strong Creole culture, fantastic seafood, Saturday afternoon baseball games and laid back vibes this is a great place to while away some days.

However, Pearl Lagoon's real draw are the Pearl Keys. A handful of deserted islands a few hours away by boat, this is the place to live out all your Shipwrecked/Robinson Crusoe fantasies. We spent the day snorkelling, eating coconuts and relaxing on this tiny island - our group of 6 were the only visitors to the keys that day (and about 75% of the tourists staying in Pearl Lagoon). "Unbelievable biodiversity, multiple ecosystems around the lodge - wetland marshes, rainforest, ocean. We had a excelent tour guide (Franklin) at our disposal for boat and walking excursions at anytime. He had a vast knowledge of the flora and fauna, having grown up in the area. Howler monkeys, sloths, iguanas, poison dart frogs, toucans and ao much more."

"We really enjoyed our peaceful stay at the lodge! It was really special to sleep in the "tree-houses" surrounded by nature and waking up to the most beautiful view of the river! The room and the whole lodge was really clean and the mosquito nets protected us really well. "The place is clean and the kitchen is well-equipped. The view from the window is scenic. The host is very welcoming and we were treated with fresh coconut drink. She is also very friendly and helpful. I left my power adaptor in the room and she got it arranged straightaway for me to pick up."

"Ruben et Yeilyn ont été aux petits soins pour nous.Toujours souriants et disponibles.Ruben nous a fait découvrir les alentours .Nous avons passé 5 h sur sa barque à moteur avec 2 accompagnateurs.3 personnes pour nous deux ;une sortie en toute sécurité.Des arrêts pour observer des animaux et marcher dans la forêt.on a vu des singes,un ara,un crocodile,des grenouilles colorées…Une très belle journée. "What a lovely welcoming place to stay on corn Island! Couldn’t say better things about our new friends, Pat and Allen, along with their dogs Bruno and Sandy. This was more than just a place to stay. We had others to chat about experiences with, got one hell of a daily breakfast, enjoyed their well stocked snacks and beverages at a reasonable price, knew we had a hot shower and a clean bed to sleep in, and Pat and Allen even came out for drinks with us one of our 2 nights. Our only disappoint was weather related and that we didn’t get to stay longer! Our hosts have thought of everything though. Need a cab? No problem, they have them on speed dial! Have some clothes you need washed? The washer is available. Feeling tense? They’ll book you an in house massage!! Believe me when I say I’ll be rocking our new Mama Lola shirts in NJ for a long time to come! Can’t wait to bring more people to experience this majestic island! "
