We loved staying at the Candy Kitchen. It is a beautiful property. The location is perfect! You will love the kitchen, comfortable beds and cozy living room! You feel so at home. Colleen is friendly, helpful and very responsive.
Everything was a fairytale , from the cottage to the location, comfort and beauty of the surroundings. I couldn’t be happier and wanted to thank the property manager, Colleen!
Everything was wonderful. Colleen could not have been more gracious and helpful. Highly recommend this home for anyone thinking of a family trip to glacier national park. The home is equipped with everything you could ask for.
The Candy Kitchen was a perfect base for exploring Glacier National Park from the quieter East side. Right next door to the Glacier Park Lodge, 20 minutes from Two Medicine, and 45 minutes from the St Mary entrance. Evening programs at either the lodge or the Two Medicine campground are recommended! The home is in a quiet neighborhood with four comfortable sleeping areas, so guests can have some privacy and peaceful rest at the end of a day in the Park. We really enjoyed evenings on the back porch with the view of the nearby mountain. The kitchen was well-provisioned for preparing your own meals and the laundry was nice to have for a hiking trip. Groceries are limited in East Glacier, so recommend stocking up in Browning (east) or Columbia Falls (west) before making the final stretch to the house. We did visit the local market for a few things as the week went on; they had the basics, but limited selections.Colleen was a great host, meeting us at the house on arrival with some tips and living nearby to help with any questions. This was one of our favorite VRBO rentals and will be on our list for the next Glacier National Park vacation!
The Candy Kitchen is an excellent home base to explore Glacier National Park. The East Side of Glacier is the best side with Two Medicine Lake, St Mary Lake and Many Glacier. We spent 5 days here hiking, exploring and boating. Can't rave enough. We timed it on the early side to avoid crowds and lucky with the Going to the Sun Road opening during our visit. The Candy Kitchen is one of the very best places to stay on the East side of Glacier unless you are going to stay in the Historic Lodges. But then you do not all get to be together in one place. Colleen the host is the best. She lives right next door and quickly responds to your every need. We didn't have very many needs because the house is well decked out and the kitchen has everything you will need plus the washer and dryer. Can't recommend the Candy Kitchen enough.
Great location for day trips to Many Glacier, Saint Mary’s and Two Medicine entrances. Also made our way to West Glacier for rafting excursion. Everything very convenient by Montana standards. Recommend grocery shopping in Kalispel or Helena if driving in from Bozeman as we did, local grocer stores have limited selection. Home was very comfortable and well equipped and Colleen was welcoming and hospitable. Layout was great for our group of 8. Bedrooms are split 2 on one side of house, two on the other. The large 2 Queen bedroom and large bathroom is upstairs adjacent to another queen bedroom with nearby half bath. Opposite side of house are two queen bedrooms that share a full bath with shower. Extra refrigerator in garage was useful. Nice Weber gas grill. Everything very well maintained. Strongly recommend this property.
Our family of 8 stayed here while exploring Glacier National Park. We have stayed in many vacation rentals and this tops them all. It is a very special historical property that has been lovingly restored. It was a warm, welcoming place and such a pleasure to stay in. Colleen was so kind and made sure everything was perfect. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!
We had a wonderful time at the Candy Kitchen. The host is the most engaged host I have ever had with a VRBO, and gave us a thorough tour of the property when we got there. Great time and a great location for golf and East Glacier Park.
The Candy Kitchen was a great base location while we explored to east side of glacier. We made a trip to Two Medicine, Many Glacier and GTTSR and St Mary’s. We purchased most of our groceries at Costco in Kalispell but the Glacier Park Trading Company store had the few items we missed. We walked over to the Glacier Park Lodge and enjoyed appetizers and live music. The Candy Kitchen was the perfect fit for our family and Colleen was a great hostess.
Thank you for a lovely stay and perfect accommodations for our family of 10 and all of our needs. Location and space were great with everything we needed and ample comfort for everyone! Hope to return again! 👍 thanks so much! 🙏
Candy kitchen is everything and more than our expectations. We had 9 adults and our 10 month old grandson. The living and sleeping arrangements are great. The setting and history of this home are outstanding. There is a very nice grocery store and excellent coffee shop and Mexican restaurant one mile away. Beautiful river and Mountain View’s top it all off!
The location is perfect as we were there with family and friends to hike East Glacier and Many Glacier.
The home was so cozy having everything you would need and plenty of room for both families. Kitchen was nice, beds were cozy, views were spectacular. I would recommend this place to anyone who is wanting to hike East Glacier or just looking for a peaceful getaway.
Lastly, Colleen was a great host. Close by and available, but not nosey or stopping by unannounced. She has been with this property for almost 30 years and clearly has a love for it!
We would stay here again next time back to northern MT. Thanks for a great stay!
We had an wonderful stay at this property in East Glacier Village! The house was clean and spacious, giving our family plenty of room to relax after long days exploring Glacier National Park. The location was great - a relatively short drive to the east entrances of the park, making it convenient for our daily adventures. A real highlight, though, was looking out the window one evening to see a majestic moose casually strolling down the dirt road right next to the house! It was an unforgettable wildlife encounter that perfectly captured the magic of staying so close to nature.Colleen was incredibly nice and responsive throughout our stay, going above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The thoughtful touch of homemade pie waiting for us upon arrival was absolutely delicious - what a perfect way to start our Montana adventure! It's those personal touches that really make a stay memorable. The property provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We'd definitely stay here again on our next visit to this incredible area. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore Glacier National Park from the east side!
We had a fantastic MT vacation and coming home at the end of each day to Candy Kitchen helped make it so. The house is literally stocked like your own home, completely comfortable and not a utensil, bedding or bath item missed. Very clean. The home is very close to the Two Medicine park entrance, but a good 1 hour ride (with construction) to the popular Going to the Sun Road entrance. That did not deter us from driving there 3 times, though it was that worth it. In fact, we felt better about it when we saw the back-log of cars entering the park from the West, versus the ease we had from the East. That is the only reason I put a 4 star for location.
Thank you Colleen, it was a pleasure to meet you, hope to visit again someday.
