Nice grand hotel. Well maintained. Room does not have air conditioning, even though there was an air-conditioning panel which did not work. It was a hot British summer. The front desk staff was pretty curt about it. However, Rob, the night manager managed to sort out the issue somewhat by providing us with some fans which helped. He was so much better than the earlier front desk staff that handled the situation. Hats off to you Rob!

Lovely welcome from the staff on reception. Room was clean and comfortable, bathroom and shower cubicle was quite small. We stayed on a room only basis so can’t comment on breakfast or other meals. Unable to park at hotel but no problem getting into the nearby Jubilee gardens pay and display which is only a couple of minutes walk away. Main reasons for not giving a higher rating are that the hotel is showing its age and needs refurbishment, especially in areas like the stairs and corridors, and also because the room was very hot and even with the window open it was too warm and felt airless. We stayed when temperatures were not particularly high for the time of year and I would not have wanted to be in that room during a hotter spell. Overall the hotel offered very good value for an overnight visit and we would stay again if we return to the area,

Very small and dated rooms. Bathroom was almost bigger than the bedroom yet the shower box was super tiny, impossible to turn around inside and no place to put soap. Courtyard rooms are not good and we got woken up twice by garbage truck 5.30am and then 6.30am some other delivery truck with laundry…

We had a recently refreshed room, which was very nice. The hotel is good value for money compared with the bigger chains in the same area. It is a nice period property with a good pub and restaurant.
