Long Weekend with Old Friends
Property was fantastically situated with an easy walk to the local pub which serves great food. Lovely big well kept secure garden (will bring the dog next time!), plenty of parking and a welcome pack with everything you need for your first night/morning. Lowri was helpful and easy to book with. Highly recommend.

Wonderful Stay
We had a wonderful stay at Greenloaning. The cottage has everything you need (including a generous welcome pack), very clean and the bed is so comfortable…the bedrooms are like hotel rooms! It is also in a perfect location for visiting the surrounding area and not far from the many beautiful beaches. Our dogs loved the large secure garden and Lowry also provides dog bowls which is fantastic as I forgot to take ours! Would definitely recommend to anyone going to the Scottish Borders.

Beautiful cottage in heart of the countryside
We absolutely loved Greenloaning. Tucked away and bordered by fields. The enclosed (huge) secure garden was heaven for our two little terriers who loved exploring all the nooks and crannies. The bed was so comfortable and we slept so well. Everything you needed was provided. Lowri left us a lovely welcome pack that was most appreciated after our long drive. Thank you so much!

Great cottage
Great base for exploring the surrounding area. Cottage is very comfortable and added bonus of dressing gowns provided. Allanton Arms 2 minutes away, great food, very generous portions and really friendly staff. The welcome pack is very generous and has everything you need.

Lovely cottage in the countryside
Greenloaning is a well kept cottage in the Scottish Boarders. We stayed for 10 days and it is in an ideal location to explore various towns, castles and beaches. The cottage has everything needed for a relaxing stay, including a generous welcome tray.

If you enjoy nature you will enjoy this
Gorgeous cottage with a huge enclosed garden that was safe for kids and dog to run around freely. Within 15 miles you hit gorgeous,Sandy beach that we were blessed with weather to visit every day. Many places to visit and would recommend Paxton House for the day as lovely walks and gardens. Will definitely visit again and can’t recommend enough. Due to covid owner had to replace washing machine with dishwasher. Not there fault, however we did miss the use of one when staying a week, with kids and beach visits, walks etc. This didn’t put us off however would probably stay for a shorter period in future if covid continues to cause issues for owners of residences where there is only room for one appliance. Totally recommend as the cottage is beautiful, homely and very clean.

Wonderful Cottage in beautiful area
The cottage is quiet, charming, warm and cosy and with wonderful fittings and furnishings. I have high standards and the sheets were glorious cotton, kitchen items were vastly superior to your usual ikea standard, hangers galore, everything to make you feel at home from home. Lowri provided us with a wonderful welcome pack and plenty of wood for the fire which was used daily as our weather was inclement. Allanton is a lovely small village surrounded by beautiful countryside, with a great pub and easy access to all attractions. We tried 3 of Lowri’s recommended restaurants and they were all excellent. Thank you Lowri for a really wonderful week!

Superb Cottage
We loved this property. It is well equipped with very comfortable beds and furniture. The welcome pack was superb. The best we have ever had. It is in a very quiet location with a beautiful garden. Just the place for a relaxing stay.

Magical Cottage
We really enjoyed our stay at Greenloaning, it was very clean and very comfortable. Situated in a quiet little village with lovely walks around and a great little pub to visit each evening. Not far at all from the Northumberland coast and the beautiful beaches of the Scottish Boarders. The cottage was definitely home from home and had everything you needed to make your stay perfect. There was even a welcome pack of tea, coffee, biscuits, bread etc. We would definitely stay here again if we were back in the area, thanks very much Lowri.

Lovely clean cottage with a great welcome pack of groceries to get you started! Quiet, cosy and everything you need for your stay and a great enclosed garden for your dog/s... The log burning stove and reclining chair was a big hit! Lots of places to visit nearby and a two minute walk to the local pub/restaurant.....Would highly recommended😊

Perfect Cozy cottage
This was so nice we did not want to leave! The cottage had a lovely homely feel. The Welcome Pack contained more than the bare the essentials in case we had not had time to shop. The assorted dog bowls and dog towels welcomed my Collie. The stove was a huge hit. The beds were comfy and the big all-enclosed garden was ideal for my dog..The shower was lovely, hot and powerfiul.. We cannot wait to find a reason to return!

Lovely cosy cottage in rural Borders
A very comfortable cottage with lots of special touches. It’s clear the owners take a great deal of pride in their cottage and want their guests to have the best holiday possible. The lounge seating is very comfortable with a lovely log burner for atmosphere, and books and games when the weather’s not quite what you hoped for! Plenty of hot water for showers or baths and a well stocked kitchen. A fabulous welcome basket greeted us on arrival and the Inn over the road was lovely and welcoming with great food. My favourite thing was the bedroom which is wonderfully relaxing and the kids enjoyed the park being a stone’s throw away. There is so much to do in the region too that the only thing you’ll regret is not booking longer!

A week in the sun
This is a lovely holiday cottage with everything you need to help you enjoy a visit to the beautiful Scottish borders. The main bedroom is spacious, the lounge and kitchen well equipped, the garden is fantastic and the garden furniture good quality and comfortable. There is a very generous welcome pack and overall the house feels like a real home from home. We would love to return one day.

Can't rate this property high enough, it was perfect for our few days away. Cottage has everything you could possibly want, and welcome pack a very thoughtful gesture. Garden is very large and enclosed making it ideal for our dog. Lowri was super helpful from the second we booked, we're already looking at dates to go again

Bliss and birdsong.
A wonderfully peaceful spot which is just what we needed. A great stop in Borders for days out or relaxing in the beautiful garden. The cottage is really a home from home it is fully equipped and no it doesn't have a dishwasher but the view from the sink makes up for it. The welcome pack is very generous. My only disappointment was the weather was so fantastic we couldn't light the logburner. It means we have to go back!

New Years Eve Break
Had a lovely 4 night break in this beautiful cottage. The kitchen has everything you would ever need and the welcome pack was generous all rooms are very well kept just as shown in the photos and are warm and cosy especially with the log burner going, it was a real treat. Cosy, clean and amazing garden
Had a brill week here. We got very lucky with the weather so enjoyed the garden all evening. Cottage is welcoming and cosy and so peaceful. Kids loved having a small park next to the house. Lovely welcome hamper and lowri is always on hand if you have any questions. The main bedroom is WOW but I found the mattress too hard but that is personal preference. Everything is provided including things you normally forget to bring. Just wish there was a dishwasher (husband’s words hahaah) thanks for having us. Highly recommend. And we will be back xx

Delighted to hear you had a lovely time at Greenloaning and your children enjoyed the park. Its tricky re the mattress as so hard to get one that suits all. I know its firm and have wondered about replacing it with a softer one but then some guests state how much they liked it. Maybe i should put a topper into the cottage for those that want it!. A lovely comfortable cottage in a quiet and relaxing location.
Well equipped with everything thing you might need, including a thoughtful welcome tray of food essentials and some things in the fridge so that you don’t have to find a shop the minute you arrive. The cottage is in a quiet village in a rural area so lots of driving required to get to the tourist spots. Nevertheless it’s ideal if you want a relaxing break in a beautiful area with the added bonus of a lovely spacious garden. I would thoroughly recommend it.

Beautiful cosy cottage. Tastefully decorated with quality furnishings. A real home from home
I have had deduct one star solely because the garden although perfect in every other way, was not secure. Which was a real disappointment. A secure garden was one of my main priorities for this holiday, so I could sit outside and relax while the 3 dogs chilled out too. I have 3 rescue hunting breed dogs so had to have them tied on long lines for the duration, which got a bit tangly at times. 2 of the borders are privet hedging, These just needs some wire fencing running around the base where it’s still thin to stop escapees. The other border was a 1m high open picket style fencing with mature shrubs and trees. Both sets of neighbours were lovely and very friendly. There is an Excellent circular dog walk from the village through fields and woods. We did have a lovely holiday here, the weather was fantastic. Would love to come back sometime.

I am truly sorry that the hedging and fencing was inadequate for keeping your dogs secure and in the garden.. We walked the garden boundary immediately we received your info on the fencing and have already purchased some rabbit wire for the picket fence and have been in contact with our fencer in order to secure the other gaps. Hopefully this should be resolved very quickly. Best wishes Lowri

A relaxing week in a beautiful cottage.
Greenloanings is the perfect place to relax in, we had everything we needed, helped by the extensive welcome pack left by Lowri :) Some lovely cold frosty days & we even had a day of snow which was stunning ! The cottage is very clean & comfortable, the wood burner was welcomed on the cold days, with a huge supply of logs. Allanton is a lovely village, we enjoyed visiting Berwick, Eyemouth, Coldingham, Seahouses & the pub is worth a visit, with lovely food & an extensive selection of gins ..... I stupidly left my purse at the cottage & a phone call to Lowri, she posted it to me next day via Special Delivery, thank you so much ! You won't regret booking a holiday in this lovely cottage & a wonderful owner who can't do enough for you.

Cozy cottage in an lovely quiet village
Lovely, quiet, cozy cottage ideal for a short stay which was just what we were looking for. An amazing welcome pack with stacks of provisions was an added bonus. Although we stayed on a cold November weekend, the garden is large and enclosed, (good for those with a dog) and so will be perfect for sitting out and enjoying the warmer weather. For those cold days, inside the wood burning stove is lovely to have, - but then there is always the central heating if you prefer. I would definitely return.

Only disappointment, not connected to property at all, was that the pub is not dog friendly which was a shame. Will still be booking again for next year though.

Very comfortable and gorgeous cottage
We loved our stay in this really comfortable and peaceful cottage - just wished we could have stayed for longer. The garden is very large and secluded and our young dog loved exploring it. The area is very tranquil and is a good base for exploring the coast and inland. Lowri was extremely thoughtful and had provided an amazing welcome package and had prepared the fire for us - a lovely finishing touch. I would thoroughly recommend a stay here.

Just perfect!
We couldn't have hoped for a better place to relax and enjoy the borders. Lowri's house is just perfect : there is everything you need. Beautifull sunny and secluded garden if the weather is nice, cozy warm bright and confortable inside with the wood stove ready to be started, a lovely bathroom and a separate toilet upstairs (something we did not get many places). Games, books, dvd, maps and info on the whole region. The bedrooms are just perfect, you want to stay there all day (even a hot bottle to warm you up in the middle of winter). It was the perfect place to end our 2 weeks tour of Scotland ... we didn't want to leave! And Lowry is a lovely host, always available to answer any request asap and with very good advice on things to do and where to eat (delicious meal in the pub near the house!) Thank you, we hope to be back one day Lise (France - Côte d'Azur)

So pretty,.....
Our second visit this year to the cottage. It is lovely, with great character. It is warm, comfortable and well appointed. Our two dogs loved the large garden, it is secure for them to play as it would be for children. We will be happy to return when we can.

An Fab.
Lovely little cottage, very comfortable. Everything we could have wanted was supplied...and more. The garden was a dream for our dogs, the weather was too hot for walks but they were happy playing outside. We were able to have our meals under the shady trees. So glad we went and will go back.

Lovely cottage, very welcoming. Log burner added to comfort. Welcome package was indeed very welcome. Plenty to do in the locale. Allanton Inn serves excellent food. Would certainly recommend Greenloaning for a peaceful getaway.
