Ok hotel close to beach

Posted 14-Aug-2016
Pros: The location was good but the hotel is definitely dated. Outside seating area / bar was great and the service there was solid. Gym was good.
Cons: Rooms need to be updated. Food was just OK.
Location: Beach, marina, shopping etc all within walking distance.
I was on a business trip and most were there on vacation so my needs were probably different than most.

Reserved a King Bed, got 2 Double Beds.

Posted 01-Aug-2016
Other then the front desk refusing to give me the room I reserved online, telling me the hotel was completely booked, it was an overall great stay. Had two spa treatments that were fantastic. Spent the days by the pool or the beach, and the hotel staff kept the drinks cold and topped off. Food selection was nice, room service was quick. The price of the Sheesha is a little high, but nice to have nonetheless. The wifi never worked properly and went to Starbucks daily to check emails. Over all though, this resort is all inclusive and has everything I needed for a 3 day getaway.

Overpriced, old hotel on the beach

Posted 01-Aug-2016
Pros: Location.
Location: Next to beach and shopping complex
The Sheraton JBR is one of the oldest hotels on JBR beach. Dated decor and worn down rooms. Service is substandard. The only saving grace is its location right on the beach, and next to a sprawling shopping mall with plenty of restaurants, shops and a movie theater. Habtoor Grand, and the Le Royal Meridien hotels nearby have better restaurants and entertainment options. JA Ocean View, Moevenpick and Amwaj Rotana are better hotels with nicer rooms.

Agradável estadia em Dubai

Posted 27-Jun-2016 on Hotels
Minha estadia foi muito agradável. O hotel possui uma ótima piscina, serviço de praia e sauna e o café da manhã é delicioso. Os funcionários são extremamente cordiais e o serviço de qualidade. A localização também é muito boa: Jumeirah Beach.

Sheraton - Lack of Security for Westerners

Posted 26-Jun-2016 on Hotels
The hotel is a typical Sheraton resort circa late 1990s. Privacy is very important to westerners traveling to potentially violent locations. While Dubai is known for its safety, I have seen aggressive Arab "toughs" yell at American oil workers dressed in their grey oil rig workers one piece uniforms. I have other times seen young Arabs looking for a fight, at after bar restaurants. Dubai is relatively safe but be aware fights and murders happen here (look at Arab man killed by Israelis in elevator) Westerners vacations are interrupted by violence if you are in the wrong place. Back to the Sheraton: the hotel prints a list of each hotel guest, including exactly the passport and address they have on them. The full info list is then given to the room attendants. Perhaps 100 of these lists are Daily printed with your exact info and can be used to target you and perhaps worse. In other words, Sheraton is giving your personal info to people who can easily sell it to bad guys or use it themselves against you. Dangerous security measures and perhaps purposefully done by staff. Just an FYI.
