We arrived late into the evening but Chris greeted us with a smile and ensured that we were satisfied with our room. Very comfy beds and a very large bathroom! However, the main highlights were the property (with walking trails) and the hot breakfast. The property is BEAUTIFUL and well taken care of. The breakfast was super flavorful and there was a large variety to choose from. I was only disappointed that we didn't have the chance to enjoy their evening menu as well, because it also looked amazing! A lovely, quirky, friendly place to stay. I wish I could have stayed longer. The owners were great and immensely helpful (borrowing the iphone charger saved me a world of trouble!). The bedroom was fantastic, the bed comfortable. The landlady is an artist and that is obvious everywhere on the property. As is her and her husband's sense of humour. The mosaic dragon hidden in the little woodland, the highly coloured pigs and metal statues. Just lovely. Swinging gently in the hanging chair and looking at the view at sunset in the field with the stone circle clock......like I said, just lovely. Don't forget to have a look at the postcards of the landlady's artwork - I bought a lot! Highly recommended. A place to visit in itself and set in the very lovely Yorkshire Wolds which I hadn't been to before.
