Snorkeling with sharks (homestay)

10/10 Excellent
"Staying with Bill and Paula was one of the highlights of our trip to Fiji. They welcomed us like family and gave us a genuine experience that we will never forget. Bill was an amazing host—friendly, helpful, and always willing to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. And Paula’s cooking deserves special recognition! Every meal she prepared was fresh, flavorful, and made with love. Honestly, her food was some of the best we ate during our entire trip. We looked forward to every meal, and you could taste the care she put into everything she served. If you want a warm, authentic Fijian experience with wonderful people and incredible homemade food, stay with Bill and Paula. We arrived as guests but left feeling like family. We would absolutely stay with them again!"

"The staff and management were amazing. The food was mediocre, the views were stellar as was the snorkeling with the manta rays. You can’t find a better place to do that. It is pretty rustic though as far as accommodations. Just be aware. It’s definitely more of an ecological place to stay versus a resort."

Korovou Eco Lodge

Korovou Eco Lodge

10/10 Excellent
"Korovou completely exceeded our expectations. The lodging is simple but was the perfect Fiji experience we were hoping for. We came from a resort with more amenities on the main island, but Korovou was the highlight of our trip. Amazing staff, especially Abo, our main activities guy, and the ladies in the kitchen, as well as all the others constantly working on property, even down to pouring cement and raking the beach. We felt like family here, and met so many people from around the world. You can feel the care and passion put into everything they do. We ate like kings & queens, with plates piled high with delicious homemade food, we even got a surprise beach picnic at no charge with food made over the fire, and were taken by boat to a new beach to explore. Gorgeous coral reefs right out our door, with optional day trips to see the coral garden at Manta Ray passage. (no rays when we went but it was beautiful) Reviews are true when it comes to limited electricity, low water pressure, and extra charges for food and boat tender, but it did not affect our trip negatively in the slightest. Just come knowing those things and having an open mind. Vinaka vaka levu to everyone that made our time here so special."

Fijian family community stay in paradise.

Fijian family community stay in paradise.

10/10 Excellent
"My friends and I booked this stay at the last minute because we wanted an adventure and to get a feel for the 'real' Fiji. This homestay did not disappoint. Our host Bill and his wife Paula were absolutely wonderful. Bill is an excellent communicator who is prompt, professional and honest. He happily answered all of our questions and organised all of our transport and activities. Paula is an incredible chef and every meal we ate was full of local produce, either grown on their farm or caught on the reef. We were even lucky enough to score a crayfish dinner at no extra cost. During our time on Wayasewa, we explored the village and school, toured Bill's farm, met countless friendly people, attended a beautiful Church service, participated in a Kava Ceremony with the Village Chief and got to go snorkelling with Manta Rays and Reef Sharks. In addition to this, Bill is a wealth of knowledge and we all learned so much about Fijian history, life and culture from our conversations with him. Our 3 nights on Wayasewa were the highlight of our two week stay in Fiji and all four of us feel that we got exceptional value for money. If you're looking for a five star resort, this isn't the stay for you, but if you're wanting an authentic insight into how people really live in a Fijian village, then this is the best homestay you will ever find. It is wonderful to know that the money we spent over our stay all goes to these lovely people and the development of their beautiful village."
