Top Drakes Bay Hotel Reviews
Oxford Suites Sonoma County
8/10 Good
"Their complimentary breakfast was amazing! The hotel itself is in good condition. The staff is nice and friendly. I love that they are pet friendly as well. The rooms are a bit dated and are still carpeted. We were provided a pet friendly room with ripped and damaged furniture/couch. Wonder if other pet friendly rooms had the same issue. They should install pet friendly furniture/not easily damaged in the rooms and floor be hardwood surfaced instead of carpet. Seemed like the carpet had been urinated on by other pets who have stayed in the room."
Hotel Riu Plaza Fisherman's Wharf
8/10 Good
"Loved having the buffet breakfast, very good. Outdoor fireplaces, nice place to relax after the day. Our door had a gap so did hear a lot of noise at times. Had trouble with key working but was fixed pretty quickly by staff changing the mechanism or battery."
FOUND Hotel Carlton, Nob Hill
8/10 Good
"You can definitely tell it used to be an older place, as most SF hotels. Rooms are small but good for the price. Very comfortable beds, although it was hot in the room. Good stay for one night. Friendly staff."
Marriott Vacation Club®, San Francisco
10/10 Excellent
"Location was very convenient. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Would love to be back again someday!"
The Inn at the Tides
8/10 Good
"The room was clean and cleaned daily, The breakfast was good and the discount offer for other brekfast options was appreciated, The only issue we hasd was the toilet that ran continiously for two days but then stopped the dady we checked out. I notified the front desk ofteeh problem but no one ever came by to look at it."
Argonaut Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"The team at Argonaut was super friendly and helpful! Rooms were very charming and it was wicked cool to see them maintain artifacts of the building's prior life in their hotel rooms and spaces."
Grand Hyatt San Francisco
10/10 Excellent
"Very nice hotel! Right in Union Square. Beds were very hard and pillows kind of sucked. But overall the rooms were nice and very clean. We were on the 29th floor which was a cool view Parking is horrible and because we have a bigger truck they couldn’t valet it and had no idea how to help us and just kind of left us to figure it out, Thankfully we found ONE garage down the street that took bigger vehicles (thanks ChatGPT for finding it)."
Comfort Inn by the Bay

"Breakfast was very good"
Chancellor Hotel on Union Square
10/10 Excellent
"The Chancellor Hotel has a great location on the Powell Street cable car line, half a block from Union Square and four blocks from Market Street. It's an old hotel, built 100 years ago, so the hallways are irregular and the elevator seems ancient. But everything works. The hotel doesn't serve breakfast -- I recommend the croissants at One65 on O'Farrell Street, two blocks away -- but it does serve drinks at night. They also offer cookies, apples, a coffee machine and lemon-infused cold water in the lobby (although a couple of times they were out of the water). They also have a machine in the lobby to fill water bottles. The hotel notes that they don't have air conditioning. That's generally not a problem. The rooms do have ceiling fans that help when it's warm. I'd stay there again."
